SLSD,

No, she wasn’t.

Happy and healthy sailing!

this person was most perturbed that I actually didn't have a clue who she was!! Guess we are just lucky to have avoided her until recently. (we have been around for quite a few years).... we also reported her behaviour concerning treatment of Crew, and she was spoken to by the HD. To repay me for that, she then went around taking photos of me and then showing the pic to other Guests and pointing me out...LMAO, would love to know what juicy gossip she told about me. This even happened in TK's....took pics of me, then went up to other tables pointed at me, and showed the pic......so, again I reported her for harassment this time. She was again spoken to, this time also by the Captain. One thing I DID take as a good sign is that she wanted to extend her cruise, but wasn't allowed! The rest of the Guests had already planned for a "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" Celebration Party for that day, so she just HAD to leave! We were even getting blow by blow reports, like, "she is packed and bags are off the ship"....."she has just been escorted down the gangway"..... HOPEFULLY  Seabourn will eventually wake up and put a stop to people like this.

Did the HD tell her that it was you who reported her behavior?  This is such a bizarre story.  I am so surprised that Seabourn allows her to sail.  I know that the crew takes notes about guests.  When we sailed in June on Ovation,  our waiter brought me a glass of the included wine that I always order at our first lunch on the veranda of the Colonnade. When I asked if they knew this--Cristian just smiled.

the whole thing is bizarre…can’t understand why seabourn tolerates this type of behavior and harassment of crew and passengers.  Some people, are bullies both in person and online.  I sailed another lux line for many years and never witnessed anyone so bad…a select few came close but nothing like, this particular guest.

I have witnessed demanding and very pushy people but this person was just another level that I have never seen before.....I actually wrote a piece about this person on my "other" Group page and although she is not a member, her "one" friend is, and he obviously showed her the post. He was with her when she started taking the photos and I actually believe he was the one who suggested that to her. After her second meeting with the top brass she was told she was on her last warning.....lots of us now kid each other about our next cruises "have you checked to see if so and so is booked"......when I wrote my piece in the other Group, I was swamped that day on board with people coming up with congratulations and thank yous, so the MAJORITY were well aware.....being a World Cruise, the majority were probably also long term Seabourners and had seen her behaviour previously.....

I am always amazed at the Crews memories of different likes and dislikes of so many people, but when the Captain on the WC walked past me at the patio one day and said "where is your mojito" I almost thought it must be time I gave up drinking!

Wow..another level of person for sure…Not doubting you..unfortunately I’m no longer able to read the info in your “other” group.  Her friend is certainly an enabler.  Glad you got support from other WCer’s.

Airlines are able to restrict people from future flights on their planes…..so maybe there is a lesson there that cruise lines are able to use. Sounds appropriate with this person.

They can, as long as the reason is not because of membership in a protected class (such as race, religion etc).

I don't think that being a rectal orifice has been so deemed by the government, so there is only the lack of corporate will to ban such a person.

2seabournsailors - it is hard to believe what you have said about this weird person. I hasten to add that of course I do believe you, and others, but cannot understand why she has not been blackballed by Seabourn long before the behaviour you have described.  Has anyone fathomed out why she is so important?

Lola we have to be a bit careful I think with what we say. I can say for some reason a number of years ago she didn't sail on Seabourn for awhile and but then returned where she was comparatively low key for a short time but this has now changed to current standards. Hopefully in the future she will calm down again or have another break from Seabourn.

Even the thai center I go to block clients from further booking at the first sign of inappropriate behavior...I mean it is pretty easy these days...

Nah, don't be careful about it. It is being too careful that pushes and give impunity to this bully behavior,When properly confronted most of the time they stop doing it. I understand the staff can't really confront her unless it is a senior official, but the other passengers can easily do it.

OK Julie -I think I may know who you mean, and would not expect anyone on here to name names, but assume those of you who know will know why she has been able to continue for so long.  Enough said.

Age and nationality?

Yes I am sure that’s the same person and we were told why she and another went missing for a while. It should have been permanent.

It is worth noting those Venture Oysters were very specifically marinated in vodka...perhaps to minimize the risk of food borne illness?

A grand idea. And if one swallows an oyster that tastes a bit off, just order a vodka martini!

2seabournsailors,

The self-proclaimed queen of your world cruise is well known among us old timers. For far too long…

I have witnessed her berate and insult crew, and by reporting her actions immediately afterward to the HD and GSM I have done everyone, including the victimized crew member a favor, in my estimation. However, no one at Seabourn seems to mind even though she perennially causes so much aggravation and distraction. You can only deduce that Seabourn HDs are frightened of her, they fail to report upward these incidents, and/or head office does not consider it their role to get involved/approve any ship officer’s reports and/or recommendations - as they must do whenever there might be a documented case of physical assault on board.

The bottom line is “who needs any of this” and how long will it take, if ever, for Seabourn to recognize that their brand is being compromised by fits and starts. Not sure about that? Then I’d ask how such behaviors enhance the brand. The downside for Seabourn is one less fare but a savings on staff time, towels, dish washing and Evian water, and an improvement in staff morale and calm, once and for all. Simple as that.

By the way, the same discussion can follow about these so-called support dogs irritating passengers and cleaning staff.

Happy and healthy sailing!

On my very first Seabourn cruise back in 1994 (pre-Carnival), we had an older woman on board in the top suite who was very wealthy and demanding, and at times plain grumpy. However, she could also be funny at times. One night we were sitting with her and two people from Australia in the lounge talking when she finished her drink. Without looking up, she screamed at the first person to walk by that she wanted another drink, and right away. It turned out to be the Captain, and he replied "yes mam" and immediately went for the drink. When I told her she had just ordered a drink from the Captain, she said "he better get it right this time!"

Has the new Seabourn President addressed the fact that Seabourn's website is abysmal?  To use it, I have to leave my usual browser (Chrome) and use Safari.  Even then, it doesn't work well at all--in so many ways.  I have been actively searching for an itinerary to book and I am throwing up my hands.  It's enough to drive me to a competitor.  Am I the only one having these difficulties?  I don't have issues with any other cruise line's websites.

The Source app as well. In our party of six perhaps half have consistently been unable to see their excursion bookings in the "wallet."

We just sailed with Seabourn for the first time in June.  Greece/Turkey.  Nice cruise on the Seabourn Encore.  We're not foodies, but all in all thought the dinners were the only meals that stood out.  For some reason it didn't matter the meal or restaurant, it was almost impossible to get a water glass refilled.  On the last day I found the manager and mentioned it to her.  She was surprised, so hopefully that improves.  Overall the cruise was a pleasant experience.

It's been soured by a mistaken $1000 charge to our credit card mid cruise.  We found out when we got our credit card statement after returning home.  We then learned you can only communicate with Seabourn about billing issues via email.  They will not talk about them over the phone.  Took about a week to get a response to our emails.

The customer service rep first claimed they could find no record of a charge.  I said "Look at the credit card statement I attached in the email and you'll see it."  A few days later she got back to us and said they found they'd accidently billed someone else's future cruise credit to our card.  She said they were sorry and embarrassed and offered us some credit toward a future cruise.  Great, but how about crediting back the $1000?  Over a month later and we're still waiting.  Heard from her again today after two more inquiry emails from us.  She said she hadn't seen the first one, but will send an "urgent" request to credit our account.  Seems this may go on forever.  We've disputed it via our credit card issuer, so we'll see.  I'd say service after the sail (pun intended) is definitely lacking.

Very disappointing to hear this.  We've found very spotty service when dealing with Seabourn's home office.  Sometimes the person we talk to doesn't have a clue, while others are very professional and take care of things.
