Just don't like the sterile, cold, and unwelcoming vibe of the ship. The paneling in the suite hallways reminds me of the basement rec room my uncle built in the 50's to hide the plumbing and laundry tub, and the stateroom corridors on all the other decks look like they were lifted intact from a Red Roof Inn. Sorry, but IMO they cut way too many corners to conserve $$ and get the ship sailing in a market it was never designed to serve. Other than noticing the random artwork in the hallways that can be interesting, I'm not sure I've ever spent a minute thinking about hallways. Last time on Wonder, the Pinnacle Lounge was set up in the Music Hall. RCI put on a very nice appetizer buffet but it wasn't heavily used. There were 70 Pinnacles on this WN cruise last December. Were you able to use the SL immediately after boarding on embarkation day? I am guessing that we can use CK for lunch as Pinnacles.

Seems there are new cruisers on every ship these days and that is how RCCL likes it! There were around 630 total C&A reported at the top tier party. If I do my math correctly, with approx 2200 passengers, over 70% were new cruisers. Seems high, but like I said, what RCCL wants. We took Wonder in the Spring and had over 100 P on the sailing. I was waiting for a comment about room service trays or random plates in the hallways. 🙈 We often have a small stack of plates & cups piled neatly for our cabin steward to remove. Hard for me not to grab a little something on the way back to the cabin.
cruisegirl1 Posted July 28, 2023 #43 Share Posted July 28, 2023 What do we do with once a day cleaning in non-suite cabins? Dirty plates could sit in a cabin for almost 24 hours. I hate them in the hallway but that is often the only option. If one has early cleaning (what we prefer), a mid afternoon snack will not be picked up till the next day. M Lots of time on my hands during a cruise...most often we will take back up to the WJ if we don't want them in the cabin. When I do leave them in the cabin, I dispose of the food in the trash, rinse or wipe clean, and stack neatly. I never, ever leave plates of half eaten food in the hallway. Have seen too many of them tripped over, carts/wheelchairs/scooters trying to get by, and splat on the carpet. Ick.

We had Mason Jar for dinner, and I could barely eat anything except the cornbread, and I do not even like cornbread. However, we did not try the brunch, and I keep hearing that people like that better. The one thing that annoys me on the Wonder is access to Deck 17 and 18 via only the glass elevators instead of an entire half of the elevator banks. Trivial as we can all probably use the additional exercise, but it just annoys me. I really do like the casino layout on the Wonder... far better casino bar layout than the other Oasis class ships.

Fortunately (or unfortunately) for us, being in a suite is a rare occurrence and we'll be back with the common folk for the 4 future Wonder cruises we have booked. Like most things cruise-related, everyone has their own preferences and opinions. I don't expect everyone to love Wonder just b/c I did.
BND Posted July 29, 2023 #47 Share Posted July 29, 2023 (edited) A lot of experienced cruisers/higher status don't cruise in summer. Fall and spring tend to be the prime time. A lot of that is because most are retired and don't have to go during school holidays. Last July, we were on a 6 night to Bermuda on EN and with 475 or so points, we were the #3 onboard so we got recognized at the top tier party. The LA practically begged us to come and participate. There were two Pinnacles onboard and we were next with point count. Not as common, but that wouldn't happen the rest of the year. SherriZ366 Posted July 29, 2023 Author #49 Share Posted July 29, 2023 As long as Pinnacle numbers are below 70, we can use the SL and below 130, we can use CK. I hope we can wait in the SL and then have lunch in CK on Day 1.

It would be easier if a whole set of elevators on one side or the other would go all the way up. Then there would be no luck involved with getting the right elevator. On the other Oasis class ships, the elevators on both port and starboard go all the way to 17.
