7-20-23 Thursday Weigh-In-----Good Old Summer Time

Summertime is strange this year

Heat or rain is always near

Does the weather make your eating a mess

Do you eat more or less

Drinking water is always right

Do you do it day and night

Exercise hard to do when to hot

Also, when raining we say--not

We have to keep a balance we know

But when to hot or flooding we say-no

----------BUT-------------

We will keep at it and not let it be a bummer

We can/will lose weight and enjoy our summer

Down 1.6lb this week woohoo. It was a week of crazy hormones which explains why I didn’t loose a little more but I’m really happy with it. Looking forward to next week.

Tonight is my last session with my personal trainer so I will have to start working out on my own so I don’t loose muscle mass. Right now I only work out twice a week but because I won’t be working out so hard alone I will need to increase that to 4 times a week.

Does anyone else workout regularly?

Hello all!

Stayed the same this week.  I will take it because I had the 5 year old Granddaughter last week.  Too many ice cream cones!😆

SoloAlaska, my only workout is about 10 minutes of leg exercises each morning.  I have had both hips replaced so I continue to do my exercises years later.  The other thing is we walk each morning (before it gets hot).  BTW great loss!

Belle, really liked the poem this morning.  I love summer and hot weather.  But, this year is pushing the limit.

Hope every has a good week......Susan

Ice cream cones are hard to pass up especially with a grandkid.

SoloAlaska - great loss! My exercise is mostly walking in the cooler temps of early mornings.

Susan - I'd say ice cream cones with your granddaughter was well worth staying the same!

Belle - yes we can!

I lost 1 pound since last Thursday's weigh-in. We are going to our local Minor League's baseball game tomorrow night with some friends & family...the weather sounds nice so it should be a fun evening. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hello All, sorry I've been missing, been busy and eating to

many lunches out.

Tues, went to bank to change an account that can get interest now.Nice for a change.

Then went looking at floors with my son, found what I liked, then lunch out.

Wed. waiting for new fridge and stove to arrive, son was here again. Got

fridge (really like it) but not stove not going to work. Got takeout waiting.

Thurs. Friend from AZ up and we went out to lunch and visited.

Fri. she came here, we had lunch visited, daughter stopped by to say hi.

They use to live here.

Today ordered the floors, hope to have them put in in Aug.

Didn't weigh till today and I stayed the same, thank goodness!

Solo--Good loss. Nice you had a trainer for a while. Jan has one once in a while.

Think maybe Izena did to She walks a lot now. I use to go a gym.

Susan--AS we say, better than a gain. Great job on walking each day. I like summer

to, liked it better when we use to go to the river for weeks each summer. Sorry for

the people who are getting to much rain or sun.

Terri--Nice loss, another walker, it's nice to walk in the mornings but I don't like.

getting up early anymore. This week up early four mornings in a row!😁

Izena--I hope your alright. Not feeling worse. Your usually one of the first ones here.

Please come in and let us know how your doing.

I still miss Ombud (know she's around CC) so think she's ok. Worry about Jo,

hope her and husband are ok.

So everyone keep up the good eating and walking. You're all doing a good job of both.

Looks like everyone is doing great. No gains.

The heat is sucking the life out of me. Great if I get in 2 miles a day.  Jazzper/ dog like chasing squirrel in small park behind my house.

im slowly getting over acute pharyngitis caused by spending 12 hours in the house with a chain . Smoker.   My friend broke and dislocated right ankle.  She had surgery last wed.  Her son is bed bound with muscular dystrophy and she is the caretaker. Lots of scheduling and errands to be done.  The dog park group have organized meals and errands.

im not eating properly just trying to stay positive. I’d like to loose 10 lbs before thanksgiving cruise.

Afternoon All

Izena I forgot you were being nice and helping your friend,

Did they get of someone coming in each day since both in bed?

Glad you got more help with food, at first you weren't.

Sorry about the heat there I wouldn't walk a mile in it. Drink lots of water.

Jan still on her cruise, don't remember how long it was. Hope she was or is enjoying it.

I get to leave in two weeks for my next cruises. Not ready of course. I pack only the day before.

Always have, always will but always get things together before hand.  Haven't done much of

that yet.

Everyone one stay cool or dry--depending on your weather.

We got back to Maine today from our cruise.  I loved Alaska, it is beautiful!  We had a great time with my DB & DSIL.  We got off the ship on Friday and that night/or Saturday morning I wasn't feeling well.  Took a covid test today and it is positive - first time - I'm so cold.  I'm going to call the Doctors to see if I can get medicine.  People are now posting on our cruise that they got it.  My brother has it.  My husband does not.

I doubt if I lost any weight while we were gone.  Good luck to all this week.  Jan

JAN I'm so sorry you got sick. What ship was it? A 7 day? Did you wear your mask?

Glad you had a good time with brother and wasn't sick on the cruise. Hope you feel

better soon. Welcome Back.

I still think wearing a mask helps. Did all the b2b's wearing a mask, didn't get sick. Then a 10 day,  didn't wear a mask (Alaska), got sick. So, my last cruise 21-day Europe, people getting off and on

every 7 days, wore mask--didn't get sick.

You don't know what to do. Going to Alaska for 40 days, I feel I need to wear my mask with

the few other passengers and crew that do to. Main thing I don't mind wearing one, even if

one of a few. Will have to decide. Take it day by day. Now there's Noro too. Always something.

Know all this is on land too but we can stay home, on a ship you're with people unless you hide.

Won't hide but can wear a mask, wash hands with soap often.

Belle - I think that on the ship there were under 5 people that I saw wearing masks.  The last I heard from a group I belong to was probably 12-20 people who have it (don't know exact numbers) and there are not a lot of people on that site.  I am trying to get the medicine .... apparently there is a "snafu" with the paxlovid and reactions when kidneys don't function properly ... so figure, always something!!!

Alaska for 40 days sounds lovely!   Jan

My friend  bad knees and fractured right ankle doing better - she wasn’t thinking clearly for a week.  I finally convinced her if she didn’t start standing straight with her left leg she may never stand again.  Since she is able to transfer alone.  She has a scooter to rest her right leg since no wt bearing for 6 weeks.  I can’t be in her house more than an hour due to her son chain smoking giving me acute pharyngitis

Jan sorry about the cruise and Covid - glad I cancelled that’s all my son and I needed another cruise leaving sick.  I’ve been on 2 carnival cruises in past year  and no one in our group of 13 got sick.  Group of  6 on  second cruise  my son got sick no Covid I felt like I had bad allergies.  Just never know. Have a Princess thanksgiving cruise  will go prepared.

Still hot here. Can’t get motivated..  have the house to myself son in Colorado.

Hello Jan and Izena

Jan, I hope you're not feeling to bad. Hope you get the meds, Isn't  it

one your suppose to take in the first few days to help. I know that's not a

of people getting sick (could be more you don't know about) for a big ship but

to me it's still a lot. Know many don't wear masks or wash hands like they use to.

Think it's over but guess what it will never be over. Like Noro will never be over.

But at least people got shots and don't die like before. What's nice on a ship no

one says anything if you wear one or if you don't wear one. Everyone can do

what they want--hard part is deciding is-- do we want to wear one or not!

Izena,I'm glad you got your friend moving, that was the best for her. Nice she has a scooter.

Was so nice that you helped her with everything at the beginning and now. Yes. make

sure your health comes first. All that smoke. Does the son get out of bed at all?

Smoking in bed is not safe.

Didn't know you cancelled cruises. I remember you were sick from the one cruise.

I got sick on the May one, only 10 days, no mask but think it was a virus that was

going around and people weren't doing the right things. Like washing hands, coughing

the right way. Last cruise, flying cruising 21 days, was fine but wore a mask.

Who knows what is right or wrong, know I won't stop cruising and just be careful day by day

and enjoy myself.  You two do the same--Enjoy our cruises and wish for the best that we

stay healthy. Plus, we lose weight before each cruise.😊😊😊

Susan, I notice more passengers and employees wear masks in the casino.

Main reason is the smoke especially if it's bad where you like to play cards or slots.

Sorry for the employees who have to smell it every day/night.

I'm glad Princess has no smoking at the tables, dealers are too.
