Milestone credit

I called to have my milestone credit applied to my upcoming cruise...The lady I spoke with  said that she filled out the request to send to the proper department, and that the credit should show up about a week before the cruise..

I  was wondering if this was normal...

Will it show up on my documents?

Will they send me an email confirmation?

I don't want to show up on the ship, and it not be there.

Thanks

I just requested mine from my PVP. He told me he would submit the request, but it won’t show until 1-2 days before the cruise.

I was told this exact same thing about a week ago when I called to have my milestone added to upcoming cruise. Feel better to see this is normal.

One more reason to have a PVP. We are extremely close to hitting a milestone cruise and she has told us "just tell me when" as it pertains to applying our milestone credit.

Carnival for some odd reason has given up on providing a booking summary to download with luggage tags etc. I know it doesn't save them money so I am left scratching my head why they would get rid of something that has been around for many years and is surely computer generated!

Does anyone here know if you can apply the credit on the actual milestone cruise? My 25th will be a 14 day to Alaska and would be great for the OBC. I have heard yes and no.

As with much, the answer is maybe, but I think officially no.

Guest Recognition - Milestone Rewards Program

As part of Carnival’s Guest Recognition Program, Milestone Rewards was developed in appreciation of longtime Carnival guests.  This milestone reward benefit is in addition to the wide range of amenities and privileges that guests already receive as part of the VIFP Club.

Milestone Rewards Program denotes a guest’s 25th, 50th 75th and 100th revenue cruise with Carnival.  Guests will receive a special Milestone Sail & Sign card on their corresponding Milestone cruise.  We want to distinguish guests on their Milestone sailing with a unique card so that we can make his/her Milestone experience extra special and memorable.  After this milestone cruise, they will revert to the card that corresponds to their VIFP level.

In appreciation for their loyalty, the guest will also be granted the opportunity to redeem a future non-refundable onboard credit equivalent to 25%, 50% or 75% of the cruise ticket price, corresponding to the milestone reached. And when a guest reaches his/her 100th cruise, will qualify for a FREE Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Alaska or Australia cruise of their choice (8 days or less, for 2 guests), in accommodations up to and including Ocean Suites (category OS/OT). This onboard credit may be applied to any future cruise in accordance with the terms and conditions below.

If you have questions regarding your Milestone rewards, please contact our Milestone's Desk at 877-CCL-VIPS.

Terms and Conditions

  • Milestone Reward is valid for its stated value in U.S. dollars, only on Carnival Cruise Line and/or Carnival Australia cruise booking, to be used as a credit on board a ship. The Milestone Reward is not valid on any other cruise line, including any Carnival Corporation affiliate line. Milestone Reward is nontransferable, nonrefundable and has no cash value.
  • Milestone Reward must be redeemed at least 30 days prior to sail date and the OBC will be applied to the booking 2 to 3 days prior to the sailing.
  • Only one Milestone Reward is redeemable per guest, per booking; more than one guest per booking may redeem a Milestone Reward.

i noticed the same earlier this year and its annoying i liked the summary pages too. You can still view the onboard credit by going to the booking and order detail page and then click on view invoice details

I had thought the answer is yes but not entirely sure. Kindly report back after you've checked with the Milestone desk. I would think it slightly unusual that the actual Milestone cruise would coincide with one's 'most expensive currently booked' where the credit would be best utilized but in your case it makes perfect sense.

This is what I was told when I applied for mine as well. Seems like they cut it kinda close!

It wasn't planned that way. I didn't even know about milestone cruise until fairly recently then counted my cruises. I am at 19 now but the Alaska 14 day next April will be number 25. I have a couple of shorter cruises back to back. If I can't use it for this one I can wait I guess until I have another more expensive cruise.

That would be nice but as blerkone says it is a maybe. I will ask after I get to 24. Can't count my chickens until they hatch since I am at 19 cruises right now.

I called in several months ago to have ours applied to our August 31st Alaska sailing and heard nothing back at that time. I just received the confirmation emails two days ago stating that our request was received and the credit would be applied 2-3 days prior to the cruise. The emails came from guestadmin@carnival.com

Doesn't look like there is any deadline to use it?  No time frame mentioned for expiration?

Hopefully you are able use it on your milestone. Mine will be a 12 day European next July.  It will nice to have all the extra OBC for my most expensive cruise upcoming. I think it’s hit or miss though, as my brother called the milestone desk earlier this summer to inquire about his and was told it could not be used on your 25th cruise but anyone afterwards. But, wemjam was able to use the milestone OBC on his 25th cruise. Seems sorta like shareholder OBC that it depends on who at Carnival processes it. I’ve never had any issues with get the shareholder credit (as many here have) even on a “free” cruise with lots of onboard credit that my wife and I went on last October as a rebook Covid cancellation Australian cruise that I moved back to the states. Hopefully, I’ll be as lucky with this OBC request. I’m currently at 22 cruises with a cruise in October and a New Years cruise. Once, I officially get to 24 I’ll call my PVP and the milestone desk and get an answer.

I'm at 22 cruises as well!  DH is at 18, I believe (someone has to feed the animals at home😺) so I figure we will use my milestone then his.  My milestone would be figured on just my cruise fare correct?  Not our two fares together, right?
