360 invite?

As I understand the question of this thread, the OP is asking about a certain perk associated with suite guests only. As such, why would non suite guests be entitled to it?  Asking politely would seem, IMO, to be of little value as you would be asking for something you are otherwise (by the cruise fare paid) not entitled to.

Dinners with the Captain are one thing.  A perk associated with a certain level of booking is another altogether.

If you don't feel comfortable asking for something, then don't ask.  The rest of us may or may not ask, it was just a suggestion to the OP and of little importance to most people.

How does princess cruise line decide who will get an invite to the 360 dining if you are not a full suite guest?

I’ve been organizing a group of people for the chef’s table on my cruise i usually have been accommodated. I have a list for a cruise in December on the Discovery Princess and I’m going to ask for the 360° dinner or the chef‘s table and I’ll be curious to see what happens.

I'm well known with a lot of the officers & crew so perhaps that might make a difference.

My understanding is it available only to suite guests and then by invitation only.  I don't believe non suite guests will be invited.  I am not sure how the invitation process works but it may be by highest suites first on down until capacity is reached.

Not really.

We were not in a suite or VIP casino and got an invite for our family, kids included.

It pays to be nice to crew onboard.  We weren't expecting it, and had one of the best dinner experiences ever.

We always eat at specialty restaurants onboard, so they had a good idea our kids would enjoy it too.

If you have kids they have to be able to eat foods they probably have never seen

Quite the opposite, everything served was something they've eaten previously. Our kids have never ordered from a dumbed down junk food kids menu. They've been eating many, many different foods from the time they were toddlers. Traveling a lot has also allowed them to try much of the local cuisine.

I’m curious about the menu.  What do they serve?  Is it all set or are there some choices (e.g., 2 or 3 main’s options, etc.).  And, is the menu always the same?

There are no choices and no choices of how things are cooked unless there is a food allergy

We have cruised 3 times in the last year, July/Aug 2022 B2B Ruby/Alaska 20 days, Dec/Jan Panama Canal B2B, 30 days and 28 days South Pacific Mar/April this year in full suites and have never been invited to 360.  Doing Mexico/Hawaii B2B 26 days,in Dec/Jan coming up, so maybe then.

I believe they only offer it on the Discovery and Enchanted.

So sad, because it's delicious, people don't know what they're missing. We always order octopus sashimi at one of our favorite places, such a good healthy protein.

Curious on your take about the dinner, specifically the wine...I did not like any of the wines or the pulpo course, although loved everything else. Did you and others like the wine pairing? I like wine, don't get me wrong, but those wines...

Funny you should ask-We are regulars at Vines where any non standard drinks are made for 360; anything except scheduled wine would come from there. The 360 manager asks you when he calls on the morning of the event if there are any allergies or drink choices (other than standard). With the number of times we attended we saw many folks that had something other than what was on the menu. In fact, my wife did not like the octopus and told the manager and she had something different each time. Very accommodating!

  • 3 weeks later...

I have booked a suite next year on Discovery Princess specifically with the 360 experience in mind.  My concern is my husband and I both have food allergies so have avoided any set menu meals previously.  My husband is allergic to alcohol and shellfish and I am allergic to mushrooms.  2 of those seem pretty uncommon and all seem common for fancier meals.  Will we have enough options or will we be doing the 360 experience and following up with a trip to the buffet so we actually get a meal?

They ask you before hand about allergies, and if so, prepare your meal with that in mind.

That should not be an issue. For non drinkers there are alternative drinks they bring and they can tweak the meal a little to get around allergies. Believe me you will not leave hungry

My husband is allergic to shellfish and neither of us drinks and it was no problem at all. You should still get plenty to eat. And the nonalcoholic drinks were absolutely delicious.

I was not in a suite this past March on the Enchanted but called and was extended an invitation. Someone on our roll call posted the phone number from a message they received inviting them, and I figured the worst they could say was no.  I was pretty surprised when she said yes. We enjoyed it immensely. And no, sorry, I no longer have the phone number.

That’s great. My grandma always said if you don’t ask, you won’t get. No harm in asking. I once went up to the counter on an American Airlines flight and asked if they had any available class seats. A husband had just given up his to sit with his wife and son in economy. I pad $100 to upgrade.

I don't drink and turned down the hard alcohol drinks although I did try the wines. They will serve a sugar loaded Shirley Temple or plain water. I asked for a diet coke and was told no it would spoil the taste experience! But sugar won't?

I don't eat any fish and wasn't hungry. The last entrée is a small filet mignon which was perfection.

My dh has food allergies.  When they called us with the invitation they asked about food allergies and the host of the 360 tracked us down (we were in the Piazza) the day before and confirmed the allergy.  We felt very comfortable that they would substitute as needed.  We had a great time and are looking forward to being back on the Discovery next April so we can do it again.

When it first started invites went out to more random guests. Now that it is listed as a full suite perk that is not the case. When I went to the dinner in May there were many people asking how to get an invite and all were turned away.

The number of non-suite invites will depend on the length of the sailing foremost,  plus the number of passengers in the suites and how many of them accept the invitation.

not quite accurate.....we certainly were not suite guests, and yet were invited (and attended) twice earlier this year on the Enchanted.

I just called Princess to reserve my 360 experience (suite guest).  The lady I spoke with indicated invitations will go out to both suite and mini-suite guests.  Not sure if she's correct but she seemed like she was reading from a script.

We got our email invite for 360 a few weeks ago for our cruise in November.  When we called they ask which srating we wanted 5:30 or 7:30. On past cruise they only did 7:30 seating. So they are inviting more people to fill both seatings.

Yes, I was offered the choice of the two times.  Chose the 19:30 seating.
