Princess policy on children in cocktail Lounges?

I cannot find anything on the Princess website.  We normally cruise when children are in school and see very few of them on the ship.  We are taking our grandchildren with us in June. Our normal routine is to listen to music after dinner: Crooners, Wheelhouse typically.  We’d like them to be with us occasionally.  We won’t buy them beers (they are 8 and 12) and they know how to behave themselves in that atmosphere.  We take them to brew pubs regularly for dinner and stay afterwards to listen to music. If they get bored, they know how to entertain themselves without running around or getting loud or whiny.

Is there an official Princess policy that prohibits children in the lounges?  I’m not interested in unofficial policies or passenger opinions, just the letter of the law.

Our grandchildren often accompanied us to the lounges to listen to music until the kids club opened. They are closed for dinner. Then they couldn't get upstairs fast enough. 15 days to Hawaii and they never stopped looking forward to their time in the clubs.

We've cruised with our children since they were very young, and always brought them to Crooners, Wheelhouse, etc.  One of them would sketch the singer/guitarist or pianist to pass the time.

The only place they cannot be is seated at the bar (or any bar) on the ships. Lounges are perfectly fine.

Only place kids are restricted is casino and adults only pool areas. They can join you in any lounge for trivia, music, games, entertainment, karaoke - even bingo, although they can’t play on their own cards.

Forgot to mention they made friends with the bartenders who always wanted to hear about their day and made them their very own special cocktails (without alcohol ) We never ordered them anything, the bartenders just made them spontaneously

Our server noticed a pineapple sticker on one our our children's folders, and brought out a pineapple mocktini, show with the shaky shaky and all!

Our granddaughters sat at the bar at Vines and Outrigger always with an adult with no problem. They were allowed to walk through the casino to get from place to place but we tried to avoid it because of the smoke.

My grandkids have only been restricted from the casino.

That’s a reminder that I will need to restrict their medallions somehow.

Years back, my youngest (12 or 13 years old at the time) showed up for dinner in the MDR with a new watch.

God forbid my grandson sits down at the blackjack table and loses a grand.

@BamaVol i know on Carnival I can limit them to $50 max but no idea about Princess. I never object to them spending more & they always had the beverage package but honestly they don't NEED more than a few t-shirts or a stuffy.

I feel the need to add this: I am not at all concerned about a well behaved child listen to music in a lounge. I'm more distracted by loud mouth adults talking over musicians because they cannot find a seat elsewhere.  Princess has a night time chair issue in some locations. Not entirely the patrons' problem

Some kids (A** is a 9yo) are quite familiar with behavior expectations at opera, Philharmonic,  etc and behave the same onboard. If yours know how to listen to music @BamaVol PLEASE continue to expand their horizons!! If they aren't sure, thank you for helping them learn

Children are not allowed at bars just like on land. If I see a child at the bar with or without an adult I mention it to the bartender

I occasionally see that on land.  If I’m sitting at the bar, I usually offer to buy them a whiskey. Sometimes the parents get the message, but not usually.  I figure it’s not my bar, so I don't make the rules.  It’s up to management and employees to keep kids away.  But I’m not sure it’s the law, and if so, probably not in all 50 states.

I can tell you it is the law in California and Oregon. If parents won’t take them away they may hear some pretty salty language. It is a bar nor daycare

In Alabama, where I see it regularly, the kids may be exposed to worse in daycare.

A quick web search shows that it’s legal in some states.  One web site stated that it is legal for a minor to sit at a bar in California if accompanied by a parent or guardian. That doesn’t make it true, it wasn’t a state web site. But I’ve always assumed it was legal in most southern states - I’ve lived in TN, SC, NC, AL and FL and I’m reasonably sure I’ve seen kids at bars occasionally in all. Not mine, of course.

kids on barstools? - nah - 'unless' there are still plenty of stools for paying adults.

I better not be behind a kid on a barstool in Crooner's trying to get a double single malt

Aren’t some of those mocktails more expensive than a domestic beer?

It is international waters, not California or Oregon waters.

Princess makes the rules.
