We spent the next few hours drying off, relaxing, and having a few drinks. Around 2pm we checked out, got our Sail & Sign cards and towel deposit money back, and then got in a waiting taxi to go back to the ship. We shared the taxi with another couple so we were only charged $12.50 for the ride back. Goodbye Sunscape Resort. We would come back here again…..

 

 

We were dropped off by the pier fifteen minutes later. Here’s a nice view of the Venezia in Curacao…..

 

 

At this point, I went back to the ship, but Patti wanted to explore the port area for a while. Patti heads over to the Rif Fort…..

We showered and then hung out in the cabin until sail away. Right at 5pm Captain Crescenzo backed the Venezia away from the pier……

The Venezia is now heading to Barbados……

 

 

Patti is tired from all the walking she did today, so she is going to stay in the cabin. I head to the Limelight Lounge for the 6pm (PG) Comedy Show starring Jason Andors……

 

 

While there I bump into Cruise Critic member Gail and her husband…..

 

 

Comedy Club host Mathew (with one “T”), gets the show started…..

 

 

Here is Jason Andors. I enjoyed his PG show. I rated him 7.5 /10 stars…..

 

 

 

 

Afterwards I made my way up to the Seafood Shack to get an order of Buffalo Shrimp…..

 

 

 

I took them over to the Burano Bar and had a couple of Thirsty Frog Wheat’s with them. Afterwards, I made my way down to the Amari Bar and had a couple of Pain Reliefs with Zora. I then made my way to the 8:30pm (R-18+) Comedy Show starring Vanessa Hollingshead…..

 

 

Zora made me a Pain Relief to go…..

 

 

Once again, Comedy Club Host Mathew (with one “T”) got the crowd ready….

 

 

This is Vanessa Hollingshead. Her show was terrible. I gave her a generous 4.5 /10 stars. I can only pray that she has some better material…..

 

 

 

 

To cap off the night, I head to the Lobby Bar for a double Bacardi and Pepsi…..

 

 

Back to the cabin where I find that Patti is still awake and feeling hungry, so I order us some room service. Patti had the chicken fingers and fries, and I had a pepperoni pizza. We watched some television and then crashed.

I agree about Vanessa Hollingsworth. 🫣 We’ve seen her twice and both times were painful. She’s up there with Jeff Capri. 
Side note: I’m so excited for Patti to take pictures of a cruise I’m on. You have 65 days to complete this review. No pressure. 😉

Vanessa did not get any better. That's time I'll never get back. 

 

I'm hoping to finish this review by Thanksgiving. Still have 4 ports and 4 sea days to cover, plus a slew of background work to complete. Good thing I love doing this! 😁

@Jamman54...whew I get worn out just watching Patti move...she is like the Energizer Bunny with those steps and she sure covers a lot of ground, but so worth it.  Fantastic photos and she really shares the port experience with us!

Day # 14  -  10/06/23  -  Fun Day at Sea  # 6.

 

We were up at 7am to a sunny and warm day. The seas are fairly calm…..

Today is the Throwback Sea Day……

 

 

 

Today we’ll go back to 1987 to participate in and watch activities that are no longer done on today’s cruises. I would be more impressed if they rolled back the bar prices back to 1987. Just saying.

 

I went up to the Java Blue Café for my morning coffee, and then back to the cabin to work on pictures. At 9:30am we went to the Teatro Rosso to watch The Wave, hosted by Cruise Director Joey, and Entertainment Director Gordon…..

They are joined on stage by Francis, who is running the Academy of Fun on this Journeys cruise, covering topics such as art, photography, social media, food, and astronomy…….

 

 

 

 

 

 

First up is Bingo which isn’t a throwback event because it is done on every cruise. But today it will be Bingo done the old way with a cage and bingo balls….

 

 

 

 

 

Patti heads up to Deck 11 by the mid ship pool, and has found her perch to capture all the action of the activities that will happen here today. On stage there is some towel folding going on. They should have Edy leading this one!

Comedy Club Host Mathew (with one “T”) is going around handing out Throwback Sea Day stickers to everyone…..

 

 

 

I joined Patti at her perch. The next event was the Knobby Knees Contest. Back in the day it was the “Men’s” Knobby Knee Contest, but now to be politically correct they had to include the women. Patti wanted me to enter this badly, but I told her it wasn’t about my surgically scarred deformed knees, it was about how I was strutting those knees across the stage, and I wasn’t going to pop one or both while doing it to appease the masses.  Crickets. Here are today’s contestants……

 

 

They had to strut their stuff for the “judges” who by the way, had no say on who the winner would be……

 

 

 

 

 

 

The audience determined the two contestants that would advance to the final…..
