No Evening Entertainment?

I'm aboard the Coral Princess (my first Princess cruise) in about a month for a 14 day trip. On a whim I've just checked the app to see if the activities have been posted yet even though we're fairly far out from the cruise, and they have been.

However, there's like nothing to do that isn't basically Sudoku, Bingo and Quizzes? And every night has the same 3 things after 5PM and it's the following:

  • 5PM Singles and Solo Get Together
  • 6PM LGBT Get Together
  • 8.30PM Good Spirits Cocktail Experience

My straight husband and I aren't single and don't even drink. Please tell me they just update the fun stuff closer to the day and not because we're probably the last cruise before they dry dock.

There should be a Princess Production type show or comedian/singer etc. every night at 7:30 and 9:30.  Sounds to me like they have not updated everything yet.  There will be other nightime activities as well.  Also formal nights will be held as well.

Hope you enjoy Princess, we sure do.  Happy Sailing!

It fills in gradually as the cruise gets closer. I am departing in a month on a different ship, and there are bits and pieces filled in but none of the musical entertainment.  Fear not! There will be plenty of options.

There will be loads to do, that stuff is like a sticky abd sit in the schedule all the time, by the time you sail the schedule will be full of all sorts. Don't worry at all

Look about a week before you sail.  I’m not sure why they bother adding activities piecemeal.  But they do.and just so you know, there are no reservations for any activities even though it looks like you are signing up for them.

There will be a production or guest entertainer shows each evening with an early and late showtime. There will be  evening activities such as the marriage game, yes/no game, theme parties like a deck party, karaoke throughout the cruise. Each evening there will be live music in Crooner's, Explorer's Lounge, Wheelhouse Bar.

As you get closer to sailing more will be posted. Once onboard there is a newsletter each evening which lists all of the next day events.

There is more to do than you can attend. You will have to choose. Theater shows will be crowded. For production shows arrive 30 to 45 minutes early for seat selection. For guest entertainers arrive at least 30 minutes early. Activities like the marriage game will be SRO.

We are currently on the Caribbean Princess and there is a variety of things to do every night and on sea days. You can check out my current Live From thread as I mention the various things we do, to include posting photos and a copy of the Patters each evening for the following day. In my signature area I’ve also posted other recent Princess Live From threads on different ships we’ve recently sailed on if that will help.

There will be plenty of activities every night as others have mentioned.  One caveat I have is don't put too much stock in the app activities prior to sailing.  We were on the Island earlier this month and many of the activities listed on the app prior to sailing were changed once we got on board, such as the musical acts, comedians, and main evening entertainment.

The Journey View Activities Timeline does populate gradually. Groups of activities like casino department events, enrichment talks, production shows etc might pop up all at once. The individual musicians in each venue are usually not posted until you’re onboard.

I don’t pay attention to the app at all. Just look at the patter each day

The app is pretty much worthless once on board.  Activities?  Check the patter.  MDR menu?  Check the posted menu outside the MDR or Horizon Court.  Order food/drink?  Do it in person.

It is useful to connect with Crew Chat to report mobility devices stored in the corridors and paths of exit travel.
