I’m starting to feel a little bit of a sore throat.

Start medicating now.  I just returned from a cruise...about day 4 I felt like I swallowed a box of razor blades.  That was just the start. Wound up in my cabin the rest of the trip unfortunately.  After about 5 days I started to feel a lot better.  Rest up and hope you feel better.

Caribill, thank you for mentioning once again about the so called "formal nights," even though they or one of them was called dress to impress, which is fine with me too.

You can always choose to have your own formal night as well. If there aren't enough "formal" formal nights for you just break out your fancy dress any night of the cruise.

150 TA

100 shareholder

100’vet

25 Princess plus

and then I forget what the other 25 Is…adds up to my 400

Do you know which were and weren’t refundable? We have $600 but it’s unclear what’s what and trying to figure out how much we could get back as a check

the TA and stock are supposed to be non-refundable. The veterans benefit, $25 for the Princess plus not being usable in port and the other $25 are supposed to be refundable per my statement and guest services.

Greg, I have had several neighbors cruise Princess and they have told me that they are the youngest guests on the ship, and they are in their sixties.  Have you noticed that most of the guests are.....aged (trying not to be rude)?  They have also told me that the ship closes up about 7 pm because everyone goes to bed.  Any truth to this on your cruise?  I have cruised only Carnival for the past several cruises because of the evening activities and in my opinion, Carnival has the best lunch choices.  Your review is great, and I am thinking I should maybe check into pricing a Princess cruise.  By the way, I am kind of old myself.

Have cruised on Princess twice.  14 days on the Discovery to the Mexican Riviera and California coastal.  And another 14 on the Majestic to Alaska.  I will infer that it all depends upon the length of your cruise and the age of the ship.  If it's a long cruise on one of the older ships, the demographics should be skewed older.  If it's a 7-14 day cruise on one of the newer ships, not as much.  It'll be even younger with the introduction of the new Sphere Class ships, the Sun and the Star.  There will be new family oriented stuff on board.

At no time over our 28 days did the ship close at 700.  The two shows in the main showroom were at 730 and 930 each night.  We closed Good Spirits at Sea at 1145 each evening.

I thought about it. Not so much for the OBC which I was told would be refunded but I have about $60 left on a Princess gift card. But I decided not to spend my time on that. Figured I'd get the $150 check and use the gift card when I go to Alaska or something with Princess. Which BTW they do have good prices for May. But that's just too close to my three Carnival cruises. I really need to look at the summer of 2025 for Alaska and right now they're a bit high.

Earlier this year the veteran's OBC was changed to be non-refundable. That may be the $25 discrepancy you have between what they told you on the ship and what you are really getting.

Ship's staff are not always up-to-date in knowledge about changes like that which HQ makes.

Pre-cruise the part of the Personalizer on the Princess web site that lists OBC indicates which OBC is refundable and which is not.

On the ship, unless the Regal is different, the printed onboard account statement should indicate by each OBC if it is refundable or not. For example, on my last cruise the statement said

                 "Shareholder Benefit (non-refuindable)"                  -100

Actually the Veterans is the $100 of the $104 or whatever that I'm getting back. There's a $45 discrepancy. They've said that $25 of it is shareholder but if I had $150 refundable and I left $155 on the table I should be getting $150 back. Had they told me I was losing money I would've bought something. There was a bag I was looking at I ultimately did not buy because I thought I was getting the money back.

It does. It's in the screenshots I've posted. It shows $250 for of the $400 as non-refundable.

It is. It’s annoying just sitting here listening to it. Non-stop people coming up for water to take ashore. I would really hate being a bartender having to operate that way.

Why don't they just get 4 bottles delivered to their cabin similar to those in the know?

It seems that I had a perfect mail hold this time. There was no mail in my box when I got home and a stack I picked up at the post office. However, when they resumed yesterday, I got a stack of my neighbor's mail and a piece for someone not in my neighborhood. So I don't know if I legit didn't have any mail yesterday or if they screwed up and held my mail an extra day.

My sore throat went away yesterday but I woke up about 4am this morning with a cough. On the other website there's a group from my cruise that are reporting sick. But there's also something going around at work. My bosses daughter was sick last week. He was out yesterday and is out again today. Another guy in my office is out today. And his wife is sick as well. I took a covid test this morning and I'm negative. But I can't say if the symptoms I have came from the ship or from work on Monday.
