For Princess Carnival does Alchemy, comedy, included fast casual lunch options, towel animals and kids areas better. Everything else I would give to Princess.

NCL I don’t think got a fair shake with 20 year old ship in Alaska. I felt like they had a lack of entertainment options. But I liked their breakfast the best. Their MDR seating the best. I thought their MDR lunch options were better than Princess. I was surprised by the number of USB ports in the room (Princess had none). I was surprised by the number of specialty restaurants in a small old ship. Maybe comparable to sunshine.

I’ll probably have a better idea with NCL after encore. But I like their free at sea and free at sea plus. I like their 10% vets discount. I like their cruise first/cruise next certificates.

Oh the deal with people camping out in front of the MDR…doesn’t happen on NCL or Princess. I haven’t really seen any long food lines anywhere the last two cruises. Maybe like a 7 man pizza line once.

Never had more than one person in line for coffee on NCL.

Thanks, good information. I would definitely miss comedy. we go to as many shows possible a day on Carnival.

We had three comedians on Princess. But they did one show repeated twice and all family friendly. NCL had one comedian who did three shows. One family friendly and one adult that he repeated.

For Princess it depends on the ship.

The newest ones have USB ports on the bedside lamps. Also some of the recently refurbished ships have them.

Yeah it was kind of surprising 9 year old ship with all that tech but no usb ports. Carnival has at least put the lamps with the USBs in those. The NCL ship I was on is 20 years old and had quite a few.

I would add in Carnival does sports better. Princess only had two football games on at a time. In different locations. You could also watch in room. Carnival no games in room but the bars have ESPN channels instead of that Sport24 that Princess and NCL have. Most of the games that are on ESPN channels will be on in carnival bars.

For NFL I believe carnival has all of the games it’s usually a matter of if you can get a bartender to put it on or not.

I was prepared to stream my game on embarkation day. If I was counting on Princess for that, I would’ve missed it.

Thanks. We haven't cruised either Princess or NCL. Just wondered if you liked either more than Carnival. We are interested in trying a new line.

As Greg mentioned, the mass market lines are more similar than different, but there are still aspects that some do better than others.  Carnival does comedy and lunch time options better than any line.  Have cruised on Carnival 27 times and also have another 30+ between Princess, Celebrity, Royal, NCL and MSC.  Our new favorite is Princess, having cruised on them 4 times and currently have 7 booked.

We ran ours through the Casino the last day ,put in remaining credit , spun machine couple of times and cashed out at Cashier cage .

That's what I do. Refundable or not, play a bit and cash out works.

For anyone interested in joining me on my live of Carnival's newest ship, you are welcome to do so. If not, I'll be back around for my next Princess cruise. Nothing is booked yet but I am keeping an eye on Alaska this summer. A repeat of Regal Princess this fall is also possible.

I'm also working on a detailed blog on the differences between Carnival, Norwegian, and Princess. That will post April 5th. I may link it here since a lot of people were interested in that.

For those who were interested in checking out that comparison, it posted last week.

For those interested in my next cruise, it posted today.

Other than that I may be back around here in the fall. I'm waiting for that NFL schedule to drop then I'll figure out where I can fit a cruise in. I'm hoping to do Sun Princess. Otherwise I may do another Regal Princess.
