Is there any other way for me to determine if my category price has dropped by going online? Will Cruise Plum help? Or should I just call my PCC? My goal is to upgrade from OA to a Balcony. So a price drop may help get us an upgrade using the price difference. If your category is sold out, you're unable to get compensation. You should always try calling your PCC to ask for a price drop, but they will likely tell you no since the category is sold out. A sold out category cannot drop in price as there are no cabins to sell in that category. 2

A & B were on opposite side of the same page. Great job of figuring out that mystery! Yes, the damaged return was on paper. This was well before everybody was doing returns by computer. Yes and no for the A and B being on the same sheet on opposite sides. They were, but the firm I worked for had its own A with subcategories for some deductions to help the person interviewing the taxpayer to make sure to get all the pertinent information. But of course the IRS should have figured out that if the line on the 1040 for itemized deductions was filled out there should be an A, the same way they figured out the line for interest was filled out and above the minimum necessary for a B. And actually I figured it our due to my way back high school math teacher as a senior. The textbook had the answers in the back of the book. He once asked who looked at them, which we all of course did. But I was the only one who raised his hand saying yes I did, And they were there for 2 reasons, The obvious one was to check if you solved the problem correctly. The other was if you had no idea how to solve the problem, maybe if you knew the answer you could work it backwards. And that is what I did with that tax return.

tgloersen Posted November 9, 2023 #79 Share Posted November 9, 2023 Huge drop for my Xmas cruise on Getaway. My cabin went down $1300! On phone with NCL now they are setting me up with a future cruise credit as a curtsey.
hallux Posted November 9, 2023 #80 Share Posted November 9, 2023 Checking today - my inside guarantee cabin for my next cruise has gone UP $1300 (single occupancy price). Good thing I'm locked in at the lower price...

But if you are looking to upgrade, the current cost of your cabin is irrelevant. You would pay the difference between what you paid for your OA and the current cost of the balcony. I priced out the cost of a balcony cabin and only guarantee is available. Also, the cost is still too much for the upcoming "budget" cruise vacation. It's on a budget since we've already spent a fortune on 2 other major European & Israeli cruise & tours this year. But, I'll probably put in a bid and see what happens! Just a 7 day Carrib, most of that trip was paid for by Ballys Casino, i upgraded that to a Club Balcony. SO my cost after the upgrade was $1500 all in!. Now with the $1400 FCC my cost out of pocket is $100 bucks. Totally worth 15 minutes of my time.

latebuyer Posted November 18, 2023 #85 Share Posted November 18, 2023 Thank for posting this. A certain big box travel agency, redesigned their interface so you cannot filter by one person anymore. So now i can search here for celebrity and royal caribbean where you can’t filter by one person, princess and norwegian you can.
