First time on Anthem. Room advice

I’m looking to book a balcony. Never been on the ship. Advice as to location?

Any location except deck 6, as most balcony cabins on deck 6 are obstructed. We like deck 9 or 10 midship

We just returned from our #10 on her. If picking balcony I recommend 10 - 12 midship to avoid any possibility of obstruction any directions including beneath. (Lifeboats)

I think you have been given good advice above.  Nevertheless I will add that on some sailing on that class ship, the obstructed balconies (or guarantee balcony bookings that may be assigned obstructed balcony categories) can be much less expensive.  While not optimal, people in obstructed balconies still have a private space with sea air and a view when standing (the degree of obstruction varies).  If perchance budget becomes an issue for you or others reading this thread, with the correct attitude an enjoyable cruise can be had in an obstructed balcony on deck 6.  Deck 6 would be a convenient deck.

Avoid anywhere in the 6676/7676 area as this is right above the bus shelter. ( smokers area)

We love deck 6 as it is convenient to walk down/up to deck 4 or 5 to the promenade, two70 and dining rooms.   We have had some nice balconies and JS on deck 6.   

Not all cabins are obstructed but even some that are sold as obstructed have great views.

We booked 10580, wanted to be near to elevators and stairs, prefer more mid-ship, at the time, best we could get.

We like cabins above and below- not far from elevators-  I like deck 9- facing ocean .

FYI:Last year we were on deck 6 quite near the theater. Lots of loud music during “ we will rock you” shows & rehearsals.
