What is the average price per day for a cruise? $150 to $300?

That's pretty close to the $100 pp per meal in a restaurant at home.

Happy Cruising & Holidays!

I am quite sure that RCI is not spending anywhere near that to feed any of us for the entire day.... maybe not even for a week.

So...you only count food as the cost of the cruise?

What about the stateroom? The entertainment?

It's not quite as simple as $300/pp/day = $100/meal/pp.

What does it cost a cruise line to buy the food & prepare the evening meal per person?

It was reported on another thread that Royal spends about $17 per person, per day on food.  Not just the evening meal, that is all meals.  Much cheaper cuts and tougher meats.

What was disappointing with the fish & chips? Looks typical to us. Did they have HP Sauce & Malt Vinegar? The only thing I see missing is the newspaper it is normally wrapped in. LOL

If it is advertised as a taste of the UK, just look at the composition of the meal you get in the UK vs. this.

This stuff made long John silvers look like a high end meal.

You totally misunderstood my posting. People are saying that spending over $100 for a meal in their local restaurant is normal. I am trying to point out that you are getting:

Thank you for helping me explain the total cost.

Been there mate! Seen much worse than this over the years. What would you like to see composed different? Presentation is not something these cruise lines worry about. Do you ever watch how some people eat. With their fingers, stuff their mouths full and almost choke on it. LOL

Do we think that we are not getting our money's worth? If we do, why do we continue to cruise? Do we think that we could serve 3 meals a day like the ships do and only spend that amount? If we do, why are we complaining about the economy and the price of food, regardless of where we live. LOL

Happy Holidays!

I didn't say anything about getting money's worth. I simply made a comment but thanks for the diatribe. It was a fun read.

Sorry, but I was not addressing you and your opinion. Everyone has an opinion. Now I know yours and you know mine. LOL

We pulled right up to the ship to return our rental car. Highly recommend smart wheels car rental for Curaçao. We did have some trouble on the way back and pushed it a little closer than I would have liked to. We boarded with 8 minutes left before all aboard

Did you have trouble with the car or driving in the area? Thinking of renting a car

My wife left one shoe in the parking lot, so we went back to get it. That ate up all my extra time buffer to get back to the ship.  I do recommend the car rental for Curaçao. It was a blast.

What days are dress your best or formal nights??

Are they still doing the all white party??

Thank you!!

On our sailing, formal night was night 2, and dress your best was night 6.

They did have white night and red night also.

There were quite a lot of people dressed nicely on those nights.  I think it was because of the number of families onboard, wanting nice Christmas photos.

We did get our two free photos.

And I was remarking about always getting digital prints for our free ones.  Not so this time, just prints.

We did our own walking tour around Nassau.  First stop was the British Colonial, where Bond scenes in Never Say Never Again were filmed.

We stopped by Margaritaville Resort to check it out as a possibility for August when we are here.

Then checked out the beach and Tiki bar

We found umbrella street, which is similar to what they do in San Juan.
