Thanks for this thread. It has been fun!

One picture I forgot to post.  I took a picture of the carving in progress, carousel horse.  I never noticed before, but if you zoom in to the back of the horse, is that a carving of a lighthouse?   It resembles some of those infamous cookies

Thought I would ask the resident lighthouse expert. 😁

Adding some pics from Nassau. It was a lazy day. I overdid a few things this week and we all needed an easy day. First we walked to the end of Junkanoo beach.

Stayed only about 2 hours and then we started back. Had to stop for a coconut.

And thanks for the suggestion of the pirate museum. The kids liked it a lot.

Back to the ship for some pool and water slides. IMG_4917.thumb.jpeg.5349c3e0d4550d29f4438d963c5c98b7.jpeg

And since the timing worked out, we saw another showing of Flight after dinner.  Great show. IMG_4928.thumb.jpeg.5dbb931d046cedb3050bd7b04e14e63d.jpeg

Thank you for sharing pictures of Junkanoo.

One of our favorite when in Nassau.

Safe travels and Merry Christmas to you all.

I’ve enjoyed following along. Isn’t it a great feeling to disembark knowing the vacation continues instead of having to head home? I hope you’ll post some of the family adventure over on Dani’s thread.

BTW, Daryl needs his own fan club 🙂.  First we had Bella, now Daryl!

Yes it is good to have vacation continue.  Maybe I will post some of Daryl’s friends with him.  When you see the size of them, you will realize why they couldn’t go on the cruise.

Thanks to everyone for following along on Daryl’s adventures.  One last thing to post before moving on.

I did a rather long video of the Anchor’s Away parade, but couldn’t upload from the ship.  So here it is.

Wishing all a joyous holiday.

Tonight was a Taste of the UK menu, and it was another disappointing night, food wise.

I ordered the fish and chips, and these things they served were nothing like I expected.

Susan, and one of our table mates had roast beef with Yorkshire pudding.  They both said the meat was tough and chewy, and the pudding was bad.

So Royal must figure people will be far enough into their drink package by this point in the week, to not notice how the food has gotten progressively worse.

Thank you so much for sharing your adventures!  We just booked Symphony last night for when it comes up to New Jersey.

Can you tell me about you time in Nassau, maybe I missed it, but was this a ship excursion?  If not, what was it and where can I learn more?

Thank you again and Happy New Year!!

Nassau was a last minute port change for us, due to heavy rain and flooding in Labadee.

Since we have been to Nassau many times before, we debated on staying on the ship, but then decided to get off and do our own walking tour. So no, it wasn’t a ship excursion.

We started off by walking up to Junkanoo Beach, and we made stops at the British Colonial for a quick picture, then stopped at Margaritaville Resort to check their day pass prices.  We have that in mind when we bring the family here in August.

For the rest of the walking tour, I used the app GPS My City

They have a couple of walking tours with maps.

We used mainly the City Introduction walk

You may see some of the same things on a ship, or private tour, because we saw several busses and taxis at many of these stops.  Sine we like to walk a lot, it was no problem for us, but there were areas where the sidewalks were poor, or some with no sidewalks.

I really like the improvements they have made to the Nassau port.

Have fun planning, whatever you do.

We did a similar walking tour my husband found on the Royal Caribbean blog. Some photos below. Like you we had been there several times before.

FYI we have done the day pass at Margaritaville. It is nice and ok if you have a really full day at Nassau. It has gotten more expensive and no food or drinks included so somewhat debatable.

I just realized that I didn’t post photos of Daryl’s large friends on this thread.  He was so happy to see them again.

Boarding was pretty easy, then we had to get a few photos before going to the Solarium for lunch.

He has natural abilities in the water.

And, do you suppose we could just leave him, instead of a towel?

So, the solarium is opened embarkation day?

That is correct.  That is where we go, every boarding day on Oasis class ships.  It is much less crazy than Windjammer.  It did start getting busy by the time we left, so the secret is getting out

Don’t forget to check food stations both sides, because they have different things.
