packedandready Posted December 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 19, 2023 What ships, if any, have solo cabins? Does Royal Caribbean ever offer single offers? Can singles book online or do you have to call in?
firefly333 Posted December 19, 2023 #2 Share Posted December 19, 2023 If you can find a solo cabin, it's obvious though I think you have to call. I've found a few and get to where you fill in your name and give your cc and then error .. wouldn't go thru. For me I want the 2 pts per regular cabin but I pushed over 340 pts to get to the solo discount. Often a regular cabin might be cheaper than a solo cabin. I personally dont want one. There are ships google lists as having solo cabins plus a few older ships have 3 or 5 solo cabins way down on lower decks, depends on ship. I got one assigned once but didnt go. I booked a inside gty last minute and got a solo cabin on radiance.

You can book solo cabins online though the pricing may not be much better than booking a "regular" cabin. Rare WrittenOnYourHeart Posted December 19, 2023 #5 Share Posted December 19, 2023 I have one booked on Anthem in February. I just got my RoyalUp email and am pondering trying for one of the balcony offers since those are not ridiculous when doubled. Question on that…if I bid and it goes through, would I get the double points? I’d be paying double for the upgrade.

You get the points from the category and rate initially booked although mistakes have happened you should not count on them.

pcur Posted December 19, 2023 #8 Share Posted December 19, 2023 I don't recommend solo cabins. They are skimpy in size and storage. I cruise solo and usually book a Virtual Balcony, or a Promenade View, to get extra light in the room. I had a VB on the Anthem from 11/26 to 12/3/23, and loved it! My cruise friend came in and said it was only a little smaller than her obstructed balcony cabin, and the second closet was narrower.

Booked VB guarantee on Quantum TA (maiden voyage). Initially assigned OV, then assigned OV balcony. 2. Booked VB guarantee on Anthem CA/NE. Assigned OV. 3. Booked VB guarantee on Anthem TA. Upgraded to assigned obstructed balcony (that wasn't obstructed 🙂 ) for less than VB guarantee.

I'm a bit lucky as I have over 340 points and get the solo supplement discount on a cabin for 2 and 2X points. Some of the pricing on the recently released itineraries are out of this world. However, I found a gem in Harmony sailing from Galveston on December 8, 2024, and with the solo & balcony discount on a CP balcony for $1,288. Similar characteristic for a sail on December 7, 2025, and the fare is $3.400+. Ouch! Ps. On my recent Harmony December 3 sail, I earned $250 from the casino and applied to the December 8, '24 sail and brought the pricing down to $1,038, plus $100 OBC for booking on board and an additional $100 OBC Shareholder's Benefit.

I booked the same date I'm pretty sure, at $1,011 when it first came out. Or very close. Just over 1k. I really thought long and hard about should I give up that fare. I finally cancelled and crossing my fingers I get moved to CP. Booked b2b on adventure at not particularly great prices. I'm telling myself the air fare would bring the prices a lot closer if i flew to houston. I'm still booked on harmony oct 12 I think is the date. 8 days out of texas to coco cay. Maybe will be right in the middle of my move. I'll cross that bridge when I'm mentally ready. It took me 6 months or so I think to decide to cancel dec 8 2024 on harmony with a good price. You must have booked later after the price went up. I think we are the same level.

This where the total Price for Cabin was cheaper then 2 Passenger as many times there no Single Supplement. Now that Ships are back running 110% Capacity Royal has no reason to run many specials for anyone. Traveled Solo last 22yrs, deals hard t find but once in while some OK prices to be found but takes lot looking or just Luck Edited December 20, 2023 by ONECRUISER

I've been fortunate to have dinner with couples and both single women and men. This past Harmony sail I was seated at a table for 10, but only 3 other single men showed up. Very odd as to why not a smaller table. On the 3rd evening an elderly couple were looking to seat at our table and we had an inkling that they had the wrong table. Sure enough we had table #510 and they were looking for table #610. Ps. We had excellent service and most of our meals were completed in about 1 hour. Some nights we hung around and chatted a bit. However, never interfered with the preparation for the late dining time.

EXACTLY why I love cruising solo! Even the one time I went with my best friend, we had a long talk before adding her in (I already had a cabin booked) and had very clear understandings: we would do dinner together, but we did not have to do other things, including excursions, together if we didn't want to. Turned out to be a great trip - and we ended the trip still as best friends.
texastennis Posted December 23, 2023 #24 Share Posted December 23, 2023 I only cruise solo. I’ve cruised with just my daughter, my family of 6 and my wonderful husband. Love all of them dearly, but I now only cruise solo and they are fine with that. Solo cruising has become my personal rejuvenation program.
