ann1bell Posted January 1 #1 Share Posted January 1 I am fortunate to live near Stryker. He is performing in Little Rock, Arkansas tonight and we are here to see him. He misses all of his HAL fans! Happy New Year!

RuthC Posted January 1 #4 Share Posted January 1 What a great way to spend this evening! It was always such fun to walk into a HAL Piano Bar (back in the days when HAL had real piano bars, and not what they try to pass off as piano bars now) and find Stryker behind the keyboard! Enjoy your evening, as I have no doubt you will. Happy New Year to you, and if you have the chance, please tell him the same. I remember him fondly.
Rare erewhon Posted January 1 #5 Share Posted January 1 (edited) You are very fortunate to be entertained by Stryker, as soon as i saw the title of your post, I was reminded of his music, from a cruise several years ago. Wishing you a very Happy 2024. Edited January 1 by erewhon
Rare kazu Posted January 1 #6 Share Posted January 1 I had the privilege of enjoying performances and conversations with Stryker once on a HAL ship. His music is only surpassed by his personality and scintillating conversation. A great way to celebrate New Year’s. Enjoy 🙂
Suzy Bell Posted January 1 #7 Share Posted January 1 I have great memories of him on a Caribbean cruise in 2017. He really knew how to entertain and connect with his audience. Hope you enjoy his New Year's Eve performance.
Caribbean Chris Posted January 1 #8 Share Posted January 1 Lucky you!! Just hearing Stryker’s name made me pull out my photo book and relive a special 18-day transatlantic we made on Rotterdam VI from Civitavecchia on October 31, 2009 to Ft. Lauderdale. We found our way to the piano bar most nights and went to a packed-house cruise director interview with Stryker near the end of the voyage. He was the best HAL piano man we ever heard. One of our best trips ever.
Rare Hlitner Posted January 1 #9 Share Posted January 1 We really missed the Piano Bar on our last few HAL cruises. Now, we still find them on Seabourn (some cruises) and some Princess vessels (where they have a Crooners). HAL had some terrific piano bar entertainers (Stryker and Barry from Boston were two) and eliminating those venues was just one nail in the coffin of what drove us away from HAL. Rare Charlene1985 Posted February 7 #12 Share Posted February 7 We had Stryker as our piano player in 2018 on Veendam. He played and sang The Sound of Silence amazingly well.
