Men in collared shirts (with long sleeves and sweaters for the chilly venues) and chinos and slacks Love this threads; thanks to posters.
Rare crusin7 Posted February 21 Author #330 Share Posted February 21 Good Morning Bay of Islands, New Zealand! We are anchored today. Conditions look great! They just dropped the anchor. At least for us, we feel when guests dress so casually it takes away from the special atmosphere the dining room creates.
Rare crusin7 Posted February 22 Author #332 Share Posted February 22 We had an excellent excursion to the historic town of Russell. We had a 15 minute smooth tender ride. We boarded the boat for our relaxing cruise. The Captain Daryl was fantastic! He had us put on funny glasses and a sailor hat. The ladies put on a Captain’s hat. The men had Skipper hats. We went around the group and introduced ourselves. We told where we were from and what we did. It was great. He dropped us off in Russell and we had about 50 minutes to explore. It’s the cutest town. Very charming. Beautiful tree We went to several shops. Got some souvenirs. We got back on the boat and had the scenic tour. Daryl told stories. He has a great sense of humor. Suddenly he turns into Iron Chef! He and the ladies served a gourmet lunch. We had a choice of Venison, Lamb or Fish cooked to your preference. They were so organized it was unbelievable! Fish Lamb. I started eating before the photo! Delicious They also served Sweet and New Potatoes. Yummy It was shocking that this was a free excursion. When we finished we took the shuttle to Paihia. We walked around and looked at a few shops. Excellent day with beautiful weather!

Rare Port Power Posted February 22 #336 Share Posted February 22 I was having breakfast in my Auckland hotel this morning (post cruise with another line) and decided to check the cruise schedule. I was delighted to see Mariner had arrived. I am on next year’s World Cruise, which is why I am enjoying reading your trip report, @crusin7. I’ll go down for a look at the ship before heading to the airport this afternoon. Keep on enjoying your cruise.
Rare crusin7 Posted February 23 Author #337 Share Posted February 23 Our Auckland Fish Market excursion was canceled at the start of our cruise. We didn’t like any others available so we explored on our own. We were very lucky to be docked right downtown. We also had good weather. The Top Tier event was held at 4:30. The Haka Experience. The Māori Folkloric Show was fantastic. Look who auditioned and was accepted into the Troupe!

Rare crusin7 Posted February 24 Author #343 Share Posted February 24 Good Morning Napier! Today is our World Cruise Event. This was recently switched from Wellington. We are docking in an Industrial Port. It is a 10 minute drive to town. Our Wellington Event was called Soundscapes in the Garden. Now we are at an outdoor event at a winery. The weather calls for rain and thunderstorms. Hopefully clearing soon. So far a few showers off and on.

Rare crusin7 Posted February 25 Author #345 Share Posted February 25 The Event was Fantastic! It Exceeded my expectations! We drove about 20 minutes to the Winery. We were met by costumed Greeters and cars from the Art Deco Era. A very Distinguished Gentleman I love this Hood Ornament. I could see Mike from American Pickers going crazy for it! Wine was Flowing Caviar and Oysters
