Icon seems to be like Vegas, every single thing is designed to get as much money from the passenger as possible. And why is there a 18% Graturity on it? Their job is to make the milkshake........🤔 The job of a bartender is to make a drink, the job of a server is to get your food- they are all tipped. Making a milkshake is more work than a bartender getting a soda or opening a beer and they get tipped for that.

But the sheer price now that we have a family of 3 is too much compared to lines that don't charge for kids/babies. HOWEVER, I've just watched a video of Icon OTS and saw the menu for the milkshake bar. $16.50 for a milkshake, they cannot be serious??? ($14 plus 18%). Wow. I assume you have never been to Disney or gone to events at theatres or arenas. This pricing is inline with Disneys Crazy Shake prices and arena area pricing for crafted milkshakes. I am a ticket holder for our local NHL team and the venue at the arena is always loaded with patrons. Market research shows parents will pay it so they will charge it and I bet do well. Nancy 🍷🍷🍷 Same for us. We booked a long time ago and I just checked after seeing your comment and the price if I booked now, for the same date and category (balcony), is almost triple now! We don’t plan to go on Icon again, just wanted to experience it once.

I agree with your comment on Disney. Having been a long term Florida fan, I can't see myself going back there either now. It's not much fun! The NHL game is a wee bit different...you're there for a few hours. On a ship for 2 or 3 days at sea ties you into that company a bit more. CGinMTL Posted January 14 #33 Share Posted January 14 Icon is officially on my bucket list ( in 5 years ) when the prices come down In the meantime, I can now finally do oasis class ( which I have yet to do )

Not exactly included in the price, it is added onto the price... and you have no say in the matter so I don't know how that poster came up with maybe, maybe not.

The theater is nice. The crew was wonderful. We had a jr suite last on her so space wasn’t an issue. She doesn’t look any more used than anything else below the Oasis class. I am not saying that the ship is bad. I've sailed smaller ships. Our first cruise was on Celebrity Horizon. I prefer ships with a Royal Promenade or something equivalent. I'm not even much of a Radiance class fan. I can't sit still very long. I like having a lot if real estate to walk around on.

GeorgiaGuys Posted January 14 #37 Share Posted January 14 (edited) Since I love a bargain, we have cruised Voyager/Freedom class the most and find them a great middle ground. We have done 1 Oasis class and thought it was great. As Oasis class prices have started to be more reasonable the main thing keeping us from choosing the class more is a lack of diversity in itineraries. I look forward to finally getting to try Icpn in 2030 or so Edited January 14 by GeorgiaGuys

Got a great deal on Adventure this summer and a good one on Brilliance for Christmas. Got a great price on Harmony in December out of Galveston. CP balcony of $1,200+ inclusive of solo supplement and balcony discount. Applied a $250 Casino coupon and the net totaled a bit over $1,000.

No one tips people in other professional employment for doing their job? Saying that is there a 18% graturity on supermarket till workers, or garage tyre fitters, or delivery people?..... Any way, i am still looking forward to the reviews for Icon, not long now.

Haven't been to Disney for over a decade. But have gone to a lot of pro sporting events and those are not normal prices. I'm used to the $12 beers, but a $18 milkshake?

One example just saw, a last min $899ea for inside doing Panama Canal. Not bad. One good things is my Sailings not overcrowded, many SOLO like me, only handful Families and maybe 10-20 Kids at most Did you try to book that $899 solo? It ends up being $3300 Edited January 14 by paradise4me Didn’t respond

Since you are from the area, you may have heard of Insomnia cookies, as well- we have one in South Philly that has a "cookie lab" and I brought my son and 3 of his friends for milkshakes last year... 4 milkshakes cost me over $70. So, same thing-about 18 bucks a milkshake.
