Day # 8  -  (January 21st)  -  Goodbye Celebration, Hello Orlando!

When we awoke at 6am the Carnival Celebration was already docked back in Miami. Here are some early morning Miami views…..

Here is the Diamond debarkation information……

Here is the General debarkation information……

IMG_3900-XL.jpg

We got our carry-off bags ready and we’re ready to go. What follows is one of our best debarkations ever! The instructions for Diamond luggage debarkation said to meet in Celebration Central at 8am. We left the cabin at 7:20am to head downstairs. We took the stairs because getting an elevator would have taken forever. When we got to Celebration Central we were told that the Diamond luggage was ready and we could leave the ship.

So we left the ship at 7:30am, and we really never stopped walking. We made our way to the escalator down to the baggage claim area, and once down there a porter came up to us asking if we needed assistance. Heck yes! You usually have to track one of these guys down. We found our luggage easily. The porter loaded us up, and into the passport line, through facial recognition, and out the door!

The porter followed us over to Parking Lot “G”, and loaded up our car. We tipped him well for his efforts. The line to get out of the parking lot and pay for parking took about fifteen minutes. The rates are $22/day, or $154 for the week. Once out of the lot we got our last looks at the Carnival Celebration…..

IMG_3902-XL.jpg

IMG_3903-XL.jpg

IMG_3904-XL.jpg

The Carnival Magic is also in port today…..

IMG_3907-XL.jpg

It’s easy finding your way out of here. Just follow the signs to the tunnel…..

IMG_3905-XL.jpg

Once through the tunnel we say goodbye to Miami. Don’t know when, if ever, we will be back here again…..

IMG_3911-XL.jpg

Soon we are on I-95 North, which we will take to the Florida Turnpike, and to our destination today, Orlando……

IMG_3913-XL.jpg

This ends the cruise portion of our review. You are welcome to jump ship now if you would like, or remain on board for the remaining six days of our adventures. At the end of it all we will give you our final thoughts. Whether you leave or you stay, we would like to thank you all for reading!!!

To be continued…..

After we finished eating, we made our way over to the Rosen Inn International on International Drive. It’s a three star hotel, but you can’t beat it for $70 a night. We checked in, and as we had requested, we were given a room on the 6th floor of the 200 Tower. We unloaded the car and brought up our suitcases and cooler for ice. This is our room # 2613……

We were done. Patti’s feet were really bothering her, and I was tired and suffering from the cruise crud. Patti took the car and drove over to the nearby Walgreens for some meds and snacks.

Once we were medicated, we enjoyed our snacks while watching the football games. I crashed during the fourth quarter of the Bills / Chiefs game.

Coming up next:   We return to Disney Springs!

So, Jamman, you were right again!  We took your Deal or No Deal advice tonight on the Pride. Purchased three cards for $50, and two of the three were $30 casino free play winners!  Ahead $10 and just to make it more fun, I am going to spin a slot machine with a $1.50 bet twenty times to see what will accumulate. Hoping Gary will do the same with his $30.

We are met at the gate by our Host EZ. He will take us to our cabana and show us around. There are only four Pool Cabanas, and we are given the Tambora Cabana, which is the second cabana from the left…..

IMG_2660-XL.jpg

These four sets of loungers by the pool belong to the cabanas….

IMG_2662-XL.jpg

Each cabana has a hammock…..

IMG_2665-XL.jpg

Here are a couple of views inside our cabana…..

IMG_2668-XL.jpg

IMG_2667-XL.jpg

In addition to a television and wi-fi, we also have a safe…..

IMG_2671-XL.jpg

These snacks, sodas, and water are included in the cabana rental…..

IMG_2669-XL.jpg

IMG_2670-XL.jpg

This is our balcony…..

IMG_2672-XL.jpg

Here are some views from our balcony…..

IMG_2675-XL.jpg

IMG_2674-XL.jpg

This view will give you the lay of the land. Our hangout place will be at that alcove on the right between the main pool and the bridge. That gray building on the left is the bathrooms, which is very handy! The cushioned loungers on the left side of the picture are part of the VIP area. For about $100 you get two loungers, an umbrella, pool noodles, unlimited zipline and water slide. This is where we would go if we didn’t have a cabana…….

Thanks to reading your reviews I booked a pool cabana the day I booked my Celebration cruise over a year ago. It’s in May, absolutely can’t wait and these pics make me even more exited. I  also booked a beach cabana in Mahogany Bay last year which we loved. With the price increase we are one and done for cabanas unless traveling with others but thank you for the recommendations. Oh, and I booked Paradise Beach in Cozumel yesterday for our Jubllee cruise in November, you haven’t steered me wrong yet. 😜 Now I need to catch up on this review, it’s been another fun ride so far!

Glad that you are enjoying those cabanas! The price increase will put a crimp on future cabana plans, but we have another Pool Cabana at Amber Cove in April that we booked at the old price. If you haven't already, we recommend a daybed at Paradise Beach. 😄

I live at exit 38. A few exits before Kingsland. They are building a brand new Buc ees at exit 42. Just broke ground Monday. Should be ready for you next year!

They have broken ground on a new Buc-ee's in Virginia just north of New Kent County off I 64.  I have family near there so my need to make more visits to see them. 😋
