I have a sunset today rather than a sunrise.  It's from my 2015 Maasdam cruise Fort Lauderdale to Rio.  February 11 was a sea day from Maceio to Vitoria:

Yesterday DH was miserable with  too much itching and the added nuisance of nosebleeds. By mid-afternoon it seemed he’d be too miserable for supper so I managed to get carry-out dinners from the dining room. Neither of us slept right last night. I did find the humidifier box (moved from New Mexico in 2021 still unused, it was my spare!  When we lived in the mountains we had a spare for everything!). Got it set up but he spent most of the night in the guest room. Now he’s sleeping next to the humidifier so I’m hoping it will help. At least he’s sleeping, which is more than I can say.

Tomorrow he’s supposed to get the first future opened by laser.

Sorry to hear that your DH had such a miserable day and you both a bad night 😔. Best wishes for his suture laser treatment tomorrow 🤞

Greetings from the Koningsdam somewhere in the Pacific.

You can definitely tell we are on the move.  We enjoyed the geology and geography talk this morning.  Sue is going back to ukulele class today.  I’ll check out the Super Bowl parties.  Dinner in Tamarind tonight.

@ger_77. So sorry to hear of your losses.  Sending hugs.

Good afternoon, Dailyites, I'm sorry there are sadnesses today, my prayers for all.  Pat has an autistic nephew in Australia, the parents had a lot of help with their very bright son as he was growing up, and he just graduated from university a few days ago.  He is a lovely lad.  It has been raining for some time here, the reservoir has been at 100% for a few days, and the moss on our garry oak trees is sooo happy.   (If the sky was clear you'd see the Olympics in the gap on the right.)IMG_4604.thumb.jpeg.5575f58146a705e764b87dbe1ec523fe.jpeg

We have been to Taormina a few times, but never from Giardini-Naxos.  I'm sue there are lots of photos of other areas, so I will just show our visit to the city park which we did with DD in 2016.

Beautiful views

Good afternoon.  The Show Room and the Lido are packed with football fans.  I've seen a lot of KC jerseys, but I don't remember seeing a SF jersey.  There was also one lady wearing a Lions T-shirt.

Unlike years past, there was no display of food in the show room.   There are two cakes under the big screen on the Lido.

Sorry the pictures are sideways.  To keep my shadow out of the picture, I had to take then from the top.  I could get them rotated, but they loaded upside down anyway.

They had three different snacks at the Drive-in - spring rolls, barbecue pork sliders and nachos.  They were all good.  We enjoyed them in our cabin while watching the game.

The special game day drinks.

Good morning and Happy Sunday from the beautiful Koningsdam!  I need to post before I read today because I’ve missed so much on the Daily the past few days.

@Haljo1935, I missed your birthday yesterday. Happy Belated Birthday!  The flowers you got from DH sound wonderful.

Nancy @ottahand7, the demographic on this sailing seems to be mostly retired people but I have talked to a few who are working and one who is working while on the cruise. There are some younger people but not many. I haven’t been to the casino yet so not sure that demographic. Any thing else you would like to know I’ll try to find out.

I started this post this morning so now I should say good evening!

My pictures from Giardini Naxos:

We were in Giardini Naxos June 7, 2022 on the Oosterdam. Craig was still in Covid isolation and I originally wasn’t going to do anything in port because I didn’t want to venture out on my own. At the last minute I decided to take a winery excursion and it was an enjoyable afternoon.

Early morning arrival and tenders starting:

We were dropped off here to walk to the winery.

I really enjoyed my day here and hope to go back to see Taormina next time.

I had a bad night because yesterday afternoon and evening we had a couple of sad phone calls.  My second last aunt passed away yesterday (age 91), bless her - she was ill and missed my uncle so died last year, so they're together now.  The second call was about the husband of a colleague who also passed away yesterday - he was in his late 50's and died from complications of diabetes.  What makes this particularly sad is that he was his whole world to my friend, and they had no children, so I don't know how she's going to manage.  After making a couple of calls, some of us are getting together to create a meal train to deliver to her every few days over the next month or t
