Been on 8+ msc cruises and this is the first with English only announcements! Seashore out of Port Canaveral. It might be different out of Miami or maybe it's a new policy. We had 8 different languages out of Rome on the Grandiosa pre pandemic with Mandarin And Cantonese added to the list.

We experienced English only out of Miami as well as PC.  I believe the other languages were offered on the stateroom television.  Perhaps they have toned this down for US departures although, our Miami cruise clientele was very European centric. Had a ball meeting new friends in the wine bar from France and Holland...before too long it was like a game of Pictionary as we drew out pictures trying to communicate...then someone got smart and whipped out their translation app on their phones.

We have been on ex Southampton cruises where it has been English only and others where it has been multiple languages.

In Europe at least it seems to depend on how many embarkation ports / range of pax there are. Our last winter cruise they had Southampton, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Zebrugge  and Le Harve and so 5 languages.

In the summer the only embarkation was Southampton so English only.

I was on the Divina out of Miami last month and announcements were in five languages, but according to the staff, our passenger demographics were 80% European, so that is not surprising. I have sailed on the Meraviglia out of NYC a few times now and announcements have been in English and Spanish on those sailings.

We noticed that on Seashore last month and yet on Divinia this past week there were lots of folks from the EU and all announcements were in E/F/D/S/I and at the YC and Diamond events greetings also included portuguese. In dining, the servers often sang HBD in 2-3 languages each time...
