joyandjerry Posted March 18 #1 Share Posted March 18 Does anyone that has sailed recently know if the milk in the buffet is in cartons or pitchers? We are sailing on Vision this week. Last year in November CCL switched to pitchers and it was a mess. We like to bring the cartons back for a snack or excursions. Staff was unsure, and some pax on Harmony recently had cartons. In the late autumn, there was a general shortage for milk in small cartons (in schools) as only two places manufactured them, or something like that. So Jerry thought it was part of the reason; there was even a shortage at our grocery store.

firefly333 Posted March 19 #10 Share Posted March 19 On harmony it was in dispensers with spigots. No individual containers.
Ashland Posted March 19 #11 Share Posted March 19 Just recently (March 3rd) off Explorer and WJ had it machine dispensed during dining times. They also had cartons but most of the time it was "pantry fresh" and tasted horrible. Only had cartons out at breakfast. We would ask each night for the regular carton of "real milk" sometimes they were able to get white whole milk and sometimes chocolate. It was a hit or miss.
HilaryC Posted March 20 #12 Share Posted March 20 (edited) I am on Harmony of the Seas now - other than at breakfast, we have had to ask for single serve cartons of milk and it has been brought to our table in Windjammer. Sometimes whole milk, sometimes low fat milk. Bars do not have it - we have asked. Only juice is available in dispensers in the am - lemonade, ice tea get added for the pm meals. i did notice that the in room fridges are considered ‘coolers’ NOT refrigerators, as the power is killed when the master power switch is off in the room. We decided against keeping milk or yoghurt in them for snacks. Edited March 20 by HilaryC

If you're really motivated, here's a work-around: Put your milk or yogurt into the ice bucket (obviously, with ice) and wrap the bucket in a cold, wet towel. Put the whole thing in the room cooler (as you said, not a refrigerator). It'll stay cold.
