crusin okie Posted April 13 #27 Share Posted April 13 We mailed ours in (standard snail mail) the first week in Feb and received them mid March approx one week apart. Did not pay for expedited processing. Have not yet received our old ones. I also noticed that the status shown on the State Dept website was inaccurate.

mz-s Posted June 20 #30 Share Posted June 20 I mailed my passport renewal form late last month with regular service, the passport office received it on May 31 per tracking. My new passport was delivered on June 12. Still waiting on my old passport to be returned, but no rush on it of course.
nwcruiselover Posted June 21 #31 Share Posted June 21 I’m glad to hear these timeframes. I mailed my passport renewal yesterday using express priority mail and paid extra for expedited processing and return. I’m hoping I’ll get the new one within a few weeks. john91498 Posted June 21 #35 Share Posted June 21 Submitted my kids and received their new passports in 3 weeks. Kinda odd, that kids are 5 years and old folks are 10 years.

The reason for that is kids physically change so fast, not so much with old folks.

And yet when they turn 16 they can get the 10 year one. Which will be funny when my then 21 year old travels next summer. He had short, cropped hair back when he was 16. Now, not so much. He has that very common long, floppy, curly hair. LOL!

While these rules have been in place for a good while, now Homeland Security is all about facial recognition and much less about comparing a picture on a Passport to what the inspector sees.

Are you renewing? I can be done fully online now. I'm seeing people in a couple travel groups getting them back in about ten days. I did this during the first beta test a few years ago and I think it took mine a week, non-expedited. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/have-passport/renew-online.html

Did they have to receive it before issuing the new one?
Lee Cruiser Posted July 19 #50 Share Posted July 19 We renewed ours back in May using normal service. We got it back exactly 15 days from the day we mailed it. We were shocked.
