CruiserBruce Posted April 14 #2 Share Posted April 14 If you look around the board, there are a huge number of threads about Miami hotels. The ones with shuttle are near the hotel. Conversely, the better areas to stay for restaurants and the like are in the downtown areas, like Brickell. The Hampton Brickell is a great hotel in a very user friendly area.
George C Posted April 14 #3 Share Posted April 14 (edited) The Doubletree and Marriott share a huge lobby with several restaurants, seafood, itilian, Japanese and others plus a pub , deli and stores including a liquor store. Most restaurants have bars also. No shuttle but very cheap Uber and you can see the ship from balcony 😁. Edited April 14 by George C
Ashland Posted April 14 #4 Share Posted April 14 Hampton Inn Suites Blue Lagoon is right across the street from a Publix shopping center. A few restaurants and fast food. They have a comp shuttle from MIA to their hotel. We enjoyed this hotel this past Feb and will be staying again in May. They offer a comp breakfast and the hotel is very well priced.
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH Posted April 15 #5 Share Posted April 15 The Holiday Inn-Port/Downtown is right across the road from Bayside Marketplace, home to more than a dozen restaurants plus lots of stores. And it's less than 10 minutes to the ships.
RocketMan275 Posted April 16 #6 Share Posted April 16 The double tree is also very close to a publix.

I looked into it for my March 30th Horizon cruise that just past, and it was about $100 more for the one night bc I was able to snag a military deal on the Kimpton Epic. Looked like a neat hotel too, so we went with that. $75 for lunch later, and a very tiring walk to Bayside for dinner with another $50, and it would have been cheaper overall at the Hampton Inn. The moral here is to figure out what your entire spend will be before you commit to a hotel.
Flymia Posted April 18 #8 Share Posted April 18 This is Miami. Your requirements are hundreds of hotels. Arriving in the late afternoon there is no reason for a place inside the hotel. Just book something in Brickell or Downtown and chose the endless amount of places to eat dinner in the area.
Sand and Seas Posted April 19 #9 Share Posted April 19 We usually stay one night before cruise at the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon for all of the reasons people have listed here. Great place to unwind after travel. Free Shuttle from airport and inexpensive shuttle to port. Staff is great. Decent breakfast. We have stayed there pre-cruise at least 9 or 10 times. Besides the Publix and Cuban restaurant across the street, we have also found it handy to have somewhere to shop for something we forgot to pack....like sandals! There is a Burlington Coat Factory that has any item of clothing you might have forgotten.
