Considering an Owners Suite

We are considering booking an Owner’s Suite on Riviera and have concerns about bow thruster noise. Can anyone who has sailed in this suite please speak to the noise level. Did you enjoy the suite and location?

Bow thruster? Isn't that ... forward?

On the Riviera, the Owners Suites are aft.

Did you mean the Vista Suites?

That is are favored suite on that size ship.  It's a great suite to be in if you enjoy your space and amenities that come with the Owners Suite.  We didn't her the thruster noise or just didn't notice it.  The outsize deck is nice, but a bit small--the wrap around is wonderful, makes no difference which side you dock on, because you have both.  We booked the suite again for Seattle to Tokyo for 2025 and looking forward to the cruise.  Book it and enjoy your time in the suite.

We were mistaken, bow thrusters are at the front of the ship. Our concern is vibration and engine noise. The suite is on deck 8.

If it's the Owners Suite it didn't bother us at all inside the suite.  Outside you do hear ocean, to me it's the best place to be on the ship.

There are certain things that are part of cruising, noise and vibration while docking are part of it. Not sure how you would get around it if you want to be on a ship.

By researching and carefully choosing your suite location.

Could you give us some background on previous cruises? And how successful were you in avoiding noise, like when docking as ORV mentioned. Thanks.

5 previous Oceania cruises in Penthouse and Oceania Suites - no noise problems at any time. Oceania Suites were deck 12 forward, PH forward to mid ship.

Honestly, it wasn't problem.  We've been on the Riviera 3 times in that suite and have booked it again for 2025 cruise.  It's just a great suite to be in and enjoy the cruise.  I mean you'll have a little noise, when docking - but for us we wouldn't change the suite for that.

Since O introduced its "O Class" ships, we've always booked Owner's Suites and have never found noise or vibration to be an issue.  For example, when pulling into ports early in the morning while passengers are sleeping, we've never been awakened by them - or even been vaguely aware of them.  Occasionally, we've noticed a bit of both during the day, but I don't necessarily equate awareness with being an issue.  Never has either been conversation-stopping or interfered with anything we were doing.  I don't believe you would be disappointed were you to book it.
