VentureMan_2000 Posted April 27 #2 Share Posted April 27 Yes... Platinum, Diamond, and FTTF is allowed to but only to drop them off in your room. You cannot stay. Drop and Leave, they say.

The tags will also have "Priority" printed on them. Then the Steward knows your bags belong to that room and cruise. FredZiffle Posted April 27 #5 Share Posted April 27 I have to wonder if anyone would notice or care if an ordinary Joe with no status dropped their carryon in their cabin.

The stewards have a list of the guests in their cabins, they know if someone should be there or not. Whether or not they'll stop someone is another matter. They have enough going on to not make a stink unless it is an issue.

Seems to be very inconsistent among stewards... when I drop my bags before 1:30 some stewards have their entire sections' S&S cards out, while others don't have even their top tier Elites' out.
stobe1 Posted April 28 #10 Share Posted April 28 We just check everything and I just cram meds and other things into my backpack. Less hassle that way. The back pack I have been using lately was one I found laying in the stairwell on Venezia as we boarded her back in November.

Depends on how many cabins were used last cruise and speed of floor supervisor to check.

Well, I would care. If everyone did that, then the hallways would be full of guests and Carnival would likely do away with this “perk.”

People bragging about how they do this and no one ever tells them no. When we tell them they don't because they don't want the guests to complain about them and risk their jobs, they say they don't care.

thewynn Posted April 29 #17 Share Posted April 29 This will be my first time as platinum- kind of a stupid question but I guess we just open the shut doors even though they say don't enter until 1:30?

Yes, you can. Just don't linger in your cabin. Literally drop the bags and leave.
bstel Posted April 29 #19 Share Posted April 29 We aren't platinum, but when we travel with our autistic kids, we get escorted through check-in, to minimize our time in the chaos. Our escort usually then takes us directly to our room, to drop bags, and then they talk with the cabin attendant about the situation, as our kids usually like to decompress, for about an hour or two, in the room, after check-in. And there is typically no keys for the room available to about 1:30. And we get lots of stares from people who are camped outside of the closed doors, to the room passageways, as we come and go before the 1:30 time.
