Where can you go on Apex to see off the front of the ship?

Never been on Apex before. Excited about it - the ship looks amazing. However, I'm thinking there is no forward location to see off the front of the ship. That's prolly not the best nautical terminology but I'm looking for a place where I can stand and see what's coming up. Not on the top deck SIDE watching as the world slides by ... I want to look forward and see what's coming. Is there a lounge, deck, place where that can be done, especially if you're not a suite, Aqua class or other higher up cabin class? What if you're in an interior cabin - where can you go to see out the front of the ship?

Nowhere

I was on the Edge in New Zealand and its the same on there as well you cannot access the front of the ship. I did go to the fitness centre but was asked to leave if I was not using the equipemnt.

Exactly, or a bicycle. The views can be wonderful ( don't pay attention to the hunky guy😉).

Clarifications above are correct - this is in the spa, not the fitness center.  You would have to access the area by first checking in at the desk to get access to the Thermal Suite, then walk through part of the Thermal Suite area and by the heated loungers out a door to the small deck.  Not possible without either being Aqua class or having a day/week pass.

I've gone out to this a few times after enjoying the Thermal Suite (usually while under way ) . Always very windy and quite difficult to enjoy. FWIW.

Nice picture of you leaning on the bicycle after a hard workout. 😉

For those of us, like the OP, who enjoy the "connection" to the water that comes from being on an outside, forward-facing deck, it's a shame that Celebrity's new builds (the E Class ships) have restricted that unique space to suite guests (and that Celebrity is doing as much possible on the S and M classes to do the same).

It's one thing to have a suites-only restaurant and interior lounge.  These are not unique spaces on a ship, everyone gets to eat somewhere and hang out in other places.

That's my personal feeling in terms of one of the things that I find special about being on a cruise ship -- seeing the ocean from an outside deck, seeing where the ship is going, seeing the ship pull into port, just hanging out on that deck.

Do a Ben Franklin 2 column plus or minus and see how it shakes out.  I do not like the IV balcony cabins on E class ships and thus, I plan to sail/look for cruises on the S class ships.  I also have seen a lot of public space on the M class of ships chopped for more cabins and have no real desire to sail on them either.  I loved the M class ships when first launched.

Does Celebrity care, in a way yes and in a way no.  Yes as if I sail on an S class ship while    avoiding an E or M class, they still got my business.  And no as they have made their decisions and I am sure on some financial modeling spreadsheet and they know they will lose 'x' amount of business and they have determined the attrition is not bad enough to put some  traditional cabin balconies on E class ships.

I guess Celebrity doesn't care if they lose me. After a lot of years cruising Celebrity exclusively, all of my future cruises are booked on HAL.  The E-class ship design with the IV balconies and loss of any forward view are key reasons why I have left Celebrity.  It was great while it lasted.  See you layer.

Same here.  I won't sail E unless in a suite and the suites are rather pricey...  For Norway I am not seeing S class ships sailing the longer itineraries.  For Norway I want a view, not a view of high end shops that I will not shop in.  Looking at Princess and HAL ...

Hmmm, that's interesting. Something new. That's why you never see anyone out there. A total waste of space.

I'll agree the space is not well utilized but wouldn't characterize it as a total waste; we have plenty of nice photos of Funchal, Tenerife and Malaga from our recent transatlantic, as do a (relatively small) number of other AQ passengers.

Why do I remember being able to walk outside from the fitness center forward?  Maybe it was on Equinox.

Seeing where you have been is just as interesting if you aren't driving.  🙂

We did that when we were kids.  Had the station wagon with the rear facing seats.  Not a fan...

For E class suites are a must.  Then you can go to the retreat and view from the front of the ship.

... or you can try another cruise line.  The price to book suites is a big step to get things that should be included.

That's the problem I've seen coming for a couple of years, the E-class ships are sailing the more desirable itineraries.  I'll see you on HAL.

I know this is at the front of the ship: what I can't remember is if it is outside the Spa area. We were Aqua class so we went there everyday and my husband loved these crazy statues.

That should be the spa area. Every forward deck of the spa area has whimsical sculptures. Actually that's basically all there is, besides a couple of rectangular blocks that I assume are meant to be used as a sitting bench.

I think I will be returning to the S class ships
