Rare OceanCruise Posted June 3 #1 Share Posted June 3 Do the RCCL Broadway shows alternate between ships (such as every couple of years) or do they remain permanent on one ship? Have any of the Broadway shows been completely discontinued and replaced with a brand new one?
Rare RobInMN Posted June 3 #2 Share Posted June 3 While I believe it's rare, shows have changed, but I am pretty positive that none have ever swapped or rotated. They are basically permanent. The only one I know of is that Allure started with Chicago and switched to Mama Mia at some point.
dahirsh Posted June 3 #3 Share Posted June 3 Quantum started with a show (either Mama Mia or Chicago, I forget which) and dropped it when the ship was relocated to Asia

I guess I would have found that out when I sail on her next year…LOL I’ve only been on Ovation. Edited June 3 by crzndeb
Aquahound Posted June 3 #7 Share Posted June 3 I know Hairspray and Mama Mia have switched from one ship to another, but that's all that I can recall.

Quantum had Mamma Mia when delivered and sailed from US. But is was changed to Allure as soon Quantum was moved away from the US.

Changes are more aligned with contracts for the shows.
Ozzie26 Posted June 9 #12 Share Posted June 9 We had been told during a behind the scenes tour that it was easier and less expensive to move the ship rather then change the show.
Rare mac_tlc Posted June 9 #13 Share Posted June 9 Oasis originally had Hairspray, now it has Cats. Hairspray took a long vacation then popped up on Symphony. mac_tlc
LuCruise Posted June 9 #14 Share Posted June 9 I think Allure used to have Chicago? Either way, it seems even if they do change, it's very rare and to expect the ships show to be the one that is showing for many years to come unless hear otherwise.
