suzyed Posted June 25 #1 Share Posted June 25 So, I know this has been discussed before but I just got another call from Princess Prizes...the first being about 2 years ago. Does anyone have any recent actual experience with Princess Prizes...good/bad/indifferent! Thumbs up or Thumbs down?
MsSoCalCruiser Posted June 25 #2 Share Posted June 25 I’ve never received a call from Princess Prizes. Are you positive that it’s legit? Or maybe I just didn’t make the call list.

It was from Santa Clarita and they knew what cruise we were just on as well as our upcoming cruises.
memoak Posted June 26 #4 Share Posted June 26 This is otherwise known as Princess Promotions run by the 3rd party vendor that also runs on board future cruises. No better than high pressure sales people. We stay as far away as possible
Rare startedwithamouse Posted June 26 #5 Share Posted June 26 You got a call from Princess Prizes? What are they giving away?
Rare Cruise Raider Posted June 26 #6 Share Posted June 26 Hmmm? Princess prizes is something you can purchase while on a cruise or else, it is included in the Premier Package. It’s more or less a lottery, not anything different than gambling. As a matter of fact, it’s only available while the casino is open. I have never received a call from ‘Princess Prizes’ but have been contacted through Princess promotions. Yes, the do know all bout your cruising record, who you book through, how you book and all the cruises you have booked in the future with Princes. As far as I’m concerned, it’s just not a deal for us. Princess Prizes, on the other hand, it’s fun and we, friends and family have won some big prizes. 1
Rare ceilidh1 Posted June 26 #7 Share Posted June 26 If it's the Princess Promotions package, where you get a cruise, onboard credits, hotel, etc. I haven't personally had experience with it but a few of my clients did purchase the package. They said that the hotel portion was really hard to book on any of the dates they wanted and the hotels they eventually got were really not worth the price tag. They regretted purchasing... 1
Sprocket Posted June 26 #8 Share Posted June 26 I’ve had a few calls, high pressure and we are not the least bit interested in the packages they are offering. No prizes given lol I think you meant Princess Promotions.

She said she would show me hotels and that there were no black out dates. Even so...it cost $7,499 which includes $6000 Future Cruise Credits, $300 onboard credit, $750 hotel credits, 7night stay Certificate and two 2 night stay Certificates. Doesn't seem worth it to us. 26 minutes ago, memoak said: Just stay away Edited June 26 by suzyed

I wouldn’t pay the $20 per day to participate without a package, but we did win a free cruise when we had the Premier Package. Here are the details on how it works. Basically you have a chance to win a prize every time you open you cabin door while the casino is open, https://www.princess.com/en-us/cruise-deals-promotions/plus-premier-cruise-packages/princess-prizes-terms-and-conditions

The other thing my clients mentioned regarding the hotels was that the description of what you got didn't actually match what you got - as an example, the description "suggested" (well, actually stated) that you received 5 night hotel stay. In actual fact, they got a credit/voucher for a specific amount per night - every hotel cost more than that credit, so they ended up paying extra to stay. They described the promotion as a glorified timeshare scheme...lol

While I was onboard the Crown earlier this year, I asked one of the future cruise consultants to specifically tell me about the promotion. I was very upfront and open to the fact that I just wanted to know about what was entailed and I had absolutely no intention of purchasing it. I really just wanted to hear about it so that I could answers questions right here on CC in case anyone had questions about it. He respected that we weren’t going to purchase it but did put in some subtle hints on what a good deal it was. We explained that while we love to cruise, we rarely fly far enough to use a hotel before or after the fact. His boss from corporate, however, who we met up with later, really tried the hard sell tactic on us. Truly, it really isn’t a deal for us as we just don’t stay in hotels and we tried to explain that to him but he argued the fact that we needed to try it. Well, that was a complete turn off to us. Just because we really just like to cruise from our own home port doesn’t mean we don’t love to travel .. we just do our travels differently than others. Anyway, then when we returned home, we started getting phone calls from the Princess promotions. The first one, I had explained we knew about it and because we just never stay in hotels, it just doesn’t work for us. Oh my goodness, that’s all it took and she was fine with my answer. The next one, I explained he was the fourth person to try to sell atht to me and he politely agreed to take me off the call in list. The third fellow to call, actually said he was replacing as my booking agent over my long time CVP for a month. Huh? He was polite and friendly enough, if not a little over the top with surprise with how many bookings we had. I explained that we like to choose how and through whom I book my cruises. I called my CVP and put me back as one of her guests. I guess that was part of their agreement at the time. So strange. Anyway, long story short .. no more calls!

We had the manager at our table at Most Traveled last cruise and he was simply a salesman who knew nothing about cruising and in fact it was the first time he had ever been on a ship. My CVP cruis s yearly and had for years.
