Hotel in Fort Lauderdale

Recommended Posts

Take a look around the board...there are dozens of threads on hotels. Budget can be important, depending on time of year. Most hotels provide a shuttle for a fee, not free. Taxi/Uber is also commonly recommended to get you to your ship.

The hotels along 17th street are close to the port. The ones on the beach are close to the port. The Riverside is downtown Fort Lauderdale about 3-4 miles from the port. We like the hotels along 17th. street the most. There is a free shuttle that comes into the Harbor Shops area about every 20 min and will take you to the beach. Plenty of restaurants in this area also. Many people choose to stay in the Dania area just south of the airport, but we find it more congested with high speed traffic.

Looking for a hotel near the port in Fort Lauderdale.  One that provides shuttle service to the port would be a bonus.  Thank you

Hotels do not have free shuttles to take you to your ship. Many have a shuttle for a fee or use Uber or taxi.

We have been staying at the Wyndham Garden Ft. Lauderdale - Airport and Cruise Port located on Federal Parkway in Dania Beach.  They have a small restaurant on site and several in a short walking distance.  There is a casino and a Publix within a 10-15 minute walk.

They offer a free shuttle to and from the airport.  There is a shuttle to the cruise port that I believe is $18 per person.  However, you can book an Uber for as little as $14 which is a better deal.

One more comment.  I have only used Uber once or twice.  On my last trip to Dania Beach, I booked the Uber to the cruise port 24 hours early for $24.  Had I waited until the morning of the cruise, it would have been $14.

I remember Embassy suites offering a paid shuttle, but our Uber was cheaper than the cost of the shuttle for two . We stayed at Hilton marina last couple of times , I like waking up and seeing the ship from our balcony.
