Live from the Land of Princess

Reading this makes me want to visit places that aren't that different to where I live!  But seeing them through new eyes brings a totally new perspective.

The only problem is now I have "As I Was Going To St Ives's" running through my head in a loop 🙃

I met a man with seven wives…

I’m so pleased that this isn’t coming to an end.  I have enjoyed every post.

I wish you would receive a commission for every Princess cruise booked by your NCL followers.

Unrefrigerated eggs baffle me

Unrefrigerated eggs are quite common in the UK and Europe and elsewhere. Eggs will keep for about one week on your countertop but must never have been previously stored in a refrigerator.
Once refrigerated, eggs must be kept refrigerated thereafter (or they’ll go bad fairly quickly.) 🐔

How exciting!  Was that a spur of the moment decision or planned?  Looking forward to following along with you as you continue your adventures on the British Isles.

Planned.

I have not been to Ireland or Wales so booked the Regal for those ports.

If you have nothing planned for today recommend hopping on #6 bus to Lymington. Even you just do a return trip without getting off you will get your fill of thatched cottages. Especially such a beautiful sunny day as this. Of course it depends what time you are sailing.

Just an added note….They also have to be unwashed in order to be left out.

The plan today is laundry!

If I was restricted to one word to summarize the disembarkation from Island, shuttle to the Regal and embarkation for the Regal that word would be ‘seamless.’

They called Suites first followed by Platinum and Elite together then began with boarding group one.

Security was a breeze although the underwire in my Wacoal bra set off the metal detector and they used the wand to scan me. I was mortified (but that doesn’t seem to stop me from writing about it!)

We left Island Princess at 9:15am and I took this photo of my inside cabin on the Regal Princess at 10:46am when I dropped off my little suitcase.

The only waits were for people to get on the shuttle bus and for suitcases to be self-unloaded from the shuttle bus.

Here are some views of Southampton cruise ship car parks

What is this silver dome?

Wow, gooooood afternoon to you in Southampton onboard the Regal.  Smart choice to do laundry.  You managed to disembark from the Island to the Regal in 91 minutes flat, impressive move with this B2B transfer, job well done by Princess.  That's "Stayin Alive" 😎

It will be interesting to hear how you like the Regal compared to the smaller ship experience.  We've been on the Regal a few times including on the British Isles cruise last year.  Have fun!

I used to own a Buick Regal. That was many moons (and many cars) ago, but I don't recall it being very "regal".

Here's hoping your Regal is "regal". indeed.

We used to own a Buick Century. It was clearly not meant to last 100 years.

The silver dome is a waste incinerator and generator. I live in those hills in the distance behind it.

I was hoping it was something more exotic like a mermaid training academy.

This is not at all a tour of the Regal, mostly because it is so huge I never know where I am. At one point today I could not find an elevator so I took the stairs then figured that earned a gelato. This ship has a gelato parlour!

So many people told me “you’ll love the piazza.”  I do not love the piazza. If there is music, it is blasting and you hear it everywhere. I am not a lover of loud.

The international cafe is open 24 hours and has food. Lots of food. May contain nuts. Like me!

So this lounge was not designed for introverts.

These chairs are more my style! They have people shields.
