BigMac1953 Posted July 10 #2 Share Posted July 10 Reminds me of the "good old days", when these type of offers were open to UK residents. Now we don't get any Grills offers.
majortom10 Posted July 10 #3 Share Posted July 10 And as usual what do we get off Cunard in the UK- nothing. So won't be booking anymore with Cunard fed up of them treating UK customers as second class citizens. Will just do the one's I have currently booked with them then no more.

I saved $6500 total on four of the cruises and managed to get $1200 more OBC. So that works out to $7700 in 90 minutes. I think that is a pretty good return on my time. Three of the cruises went up so we did not refare those. 😀 Normally there is never a saving for me on Grills so I dont even bother. This was well worth it.

I probably should call my TA because I did it online, thanks for the advice and I only need one PG.😉 Where are you sailing to?

I am sailing from Fort Lauderdale on QV to Southampton in March. Then we board the QM2 a few days later to take the fiords, staying on to do the Mediterranean and then Transatlantic back to NYC. (The last one was not discounted) Two of the cruises are 14 days. Then is September we are sailing Alaska followed by 28 days back to Miami. The long cruise is the one with the discount. My travel agent has already discounted prices on some of the cruises. I use a large Big Box store travel agency. Two of my booked cruises went up in price so we left those alone. Online one of the cruises seemed to have gone up and I was surprised that it had gone down with the agency. I hope that helps. This is our LAST hurrah as we were planning on doing the World Voyage in 2025 on Queen Anne. The Itinerary changed and so did our impression of the ship so we have decided to cruise closer to home. stan01 Posted July 12 #10 Share Posted July 12 Our QG fare for 31 days went up by $160, but we got $800 more in OBC plus the Grills drinks and hotel service charge reimbursement so net gain of probably about $2000. We book directly with Cunard, our assigned rep is good and she handled the whole change in about 15 minutes including rebooking and transferring the deposit to the new booking.
techteach Posted July 12 #11 Share Posted July 12 I checked our Alaska, 2025, Mastersuite booking, and even with additional OBC, it went up in price. No gratuities, no drink package.
Rare Windsurfboy Posted July 12 #12 Share Posted July 12 You must compare prices , UK prices are often better than US even with no offere 1

No gratuities, no drink package. Maybe Cunard is doing away with Grills US Drinks promo because of all the confusion and raised drink prices that waters down that promo. As stated, I’ve rather have more OBC than that Drinks promo. BTW, we used our OBC in Alaska for great wines. We made friends with John our Somm in QG. He recommended a German Reisling for an Indian banquet meal and it was a great choice. Cunard’s wine list is truly world class. A Pinot we ordered with Duck a l’Orange. rog747 Posted July 13 #15 Share Posted July 13 (edited) Very happy indeed.... I was booking QA 28th July 2 weeks Med cruise and they had Insides for sole OCC for around £2300 not too bad I thought - But I left it too long and all they had left yesterday were cabins right at very front of the ship and for me at the moment too far to walk to the Pool at the aft and to the Britannia MDR. I'm not lazy but I just had a big surgery on my spine. Just happened to see a PG cabin on a Saver Late Deal (UK site) and the price was eye wateringly cheap, and I mean cheap - (even the very nice Cunard chap on the phone couldn't believe the price was so low). It was cheaper than one night on the Orient Express which I did last year from London to Venice. So, I pushed the boat out and booked it!! yay QA here I come....and I get $285 OBC Edited July 13 by rog747 2
techteach Posted July 13 #16 Share Posted July 13 (edited) @NE John I’m glad you enjoyed nice wines on your cruise. I think Pinot Noir really is my favorite varietal. I think you get the US packages on your initial booking. We rebooked the Alaska cruise, changed dates, and lost the packages. But, the base cost of the cruise was higher on the July 11 sale. But in perspective I am paying about the same for this 2 week cruise SOLE OCC in a Princess Grill suite with 300 bucks OBC, as I did last AUG for one night on the amazing Belmond Orient Express from LON to Venice plus 3 nights in a small hotel there...
