Navigator App updated on the new phone and says I'll be hopping on a BHB in <80 days. 🤞 we get to go. I am still trying to figure out if I can do the TA as I very much want to. So double 🤞🤞

Screenshot_20240711_065524_Navigator.thumb.jpg.0aacf189d5d99f29aff941d279132868.jpg

App invites me to buy HIA but is apparently only teasing as even a phone call cannot get it added. We are not on a special rate (no casino deal for us 😪) or other discount beond an Advantage fare, so I think it was messed up when HAL canceled the original booking (Sept 21-28) due to a charter and moved it to the following week.

If I can't get it added, I won't be doing a Live review and boss will have to give me the time off as he will not allow me to expense the internet charge.

Any suggestions on how to get it added?

Any suggestions on how to get it added? Forwarded the email that includes the booking number and my Mariner number w/the offer to PCC did not help, of course, as I do not seem to be a valued customer to her 🤨

Quick post, I’m getting ready to leave for Ocean City.  I will not celebrate anyone who censored Shakespeare’s works.  We should all try to reach out to lonely people.

@Haljo1935 I had an advantage fare on my SA & Antarctica cruise in January.  I was unable to add HIA using the website but I called my PCC and she add it for me.

Positive thoughts to all who need them.  Cheers to those celebrating!

Good Thursday Morning Dailyites! @RedneckBobI didn't want to "Like" your post, because you might think I didn't like seeing your humorous posts....I didnt want to press funny, as perhaps you are going through a rough patch, and really didnt want to post, and I didnt want to say Thanks, because again, that would mean -o good, he's not going to send any thing today-so have a nice day.  And post when you want to.

it's 70 and sunny, and very comfortable when I went out to feed the strays. The kittens are always very happy when I get up in the morning, as are the orange boys, so when I wandered into the bathroom to sit on the porcelain throne, all the cats came into the bathroom, one kitten jumped up on the back of the seat, and climbed up on my back.  I was stuck in a very uncomfortable position, but leaning over, and over and more over....the little bugger flew off my back and onto the tub rim. I think my back is bleeding.

Momma cat is in heat...and one of my neutered males is trying to accomodate.  He climbs on her, bites the back of her neck, and then...wanders off.  Her spaying is not until mid August. NOT SOON ENOUGH.I will have to research how long a heat takes until she feels comfortable again.

Dreamer....well being the first to see the dawn, is nice.  I used to take my $ 1.00 wooden flute to the top deck of the ship, and play the sun up.  And then I learned how to sleep on a cruise...the flute still travels with me, but is rarely used. I told DH last night that when I die, I want to be a traveling angel.  Go to all the places I have dreamed of going, know all the languages, and be able to comfort people who are suffering in the places that they attained getting to. There is nothing worse than being alone and afraid in a mass of people.  Weird kind of angel....

Good morning!!

Happy Birthday Fr. David!!

I think celebrating a prude or a genius is a silly day...  I like that!

And honoring the day the world population hit 5 Billion is amazing...  and that was more than 35 years ago...

And Cheering up the Lonely should be every day, when we can!!

I've not heard of Immunity Soup -- I look forward to that recipe!

I bet a Stinger is full of booze!  And a Sauvignon Blanc is usually very nice!

Someday, I may see Brazil...

I pray for all those listed and those with needs and concerns never mentioned!

And, HUGS for each of you!!!

Stay cool and safe everyone.

Good morning everyone.  Thanks for the Daily Rich and thank you @grapau27 so that we know what today's days mean.  I think I won't celebrate those two but it is always nice to reach out to the lonely.    I haven't been to today's port, it must be an obscure one that ships much smaller than the HA ships that cruise the Amazon.   I don't really care for Wilde's quote.   I will withhold judgement on the soup, pass on the minty cocktail but another SB would be fine.

Happy 51st birthday to Father David.

Thanks for the Cares and Celebrations lists Vanessa.  My DB is heading home from the rehab facility since he has completed his IV antibiotics.  They can't culture his swollen knee until he waits 2 weeks to wash the antibiotics out of his system.  I pray he doesn't get worse because then they would have to guess what the problem is.  Prayers for Tana, Terry, Bonnie, Terri, Chuck and Annie.  Jacqui I hope you have found a sitter for Ivan and your home sale process continues as planned. Prayers for all in war zones through no fault of their own.

We woke to a very cool cabin with the outside temperature going down to 51.  It is getting up to 80 so we will have a nice cool cabin to retreat to.   Our dinner with neighbors was fun last night but we purposely left early as our host hurt his eye and had to go to the ER in town.  They are returning to Joliet for treatment today so we didn't want to linger when they will have to pack up and leave this morning.  Have a lovely day.  Nancy

Thank you for today’s FR & D, Rich. Our rainy season has finally arrived. It has been raining off and on since late yesterday morning. No need to add water to the pool. I wish I had remembered to turn off my irrigation system. I hate to waste water.

Vanessa, thank you for keeping up with all of us. I love that you included Father David’s birthday!

Gym, manicure, Bindi walks, chores, maybe some pool time.

May we each find a reason to smile today!

Totara Sauvignon Blanc 2022

Another lovely sounding SB from New Zealand. I used the 2022 vintage info, since it seemed to be the most available. Easy to find and priced to try. Consumers love this one. Online prices start at $12.99.

Distributor notes

Totara Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is a vibrant and expressive wine from New Zealand's renowned Marlborough region.Crafted from sun-kissed Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown in diverse alluvial soils and cooler Awatere Valley vineyards, this wine captures the essence of Marlborough's unique terroir.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: A captivating bouquet unfolds with an explosion of tropical fruit aromas, dominated by passion fruit, guava, and pineapple. Zesty citrus notes of grapefruit and lime add a vibrant touch, while hints of fresh herbs and grassy notes create a complex and alluring nose.
Palate: Medium-bodied and refreshingly crisp, the palate bursts with juicy flavors of citrus and tropical fruits, mirroring the aromas. A vibrant acidity dances on the tongue, balanced by a subtle minerality and a hint of honeydew melon. The wine's textural richness is enhanced by subtle oak-derived notes, adding depth and complexity.
Finish: Clean and invigorating, the finish lingers with lingering impressions of grapefruit, passion fruit, and a touch of mineral tang. It leaves you wanting another sip and invites you to explore the next mouthful.

FOOD PAIRING

Totara Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is a versatile food pairing partner. Its vibrant acidity and juicy fruit flavors make it an ideal match for seafood dishes, such as oysters, grilled fish, and ceviche. It also complements fresh salads, roasted vegetables, and creamy cheeses. For a bold pairing, try it with Thai or Indian cuisine.

I’ll celebrate cheer up the lonely day.  It’s important and should be celebrated frequently.

I like the quote but is seeing the dawn first a punishment or a reward? Punishment if you’re a vampire I’d think.

I have not been to today’s port.

Prayers for those who need them.  Cheers to everyone celebrating happy events.  Happy Birthday to @grapau27’s pastor Fr. David! 🎂

Good morning. Thank you to Graham @grapau27for explaining the days. I will skip the first two and reach out to another lonely person instead. The first soup recipe looks very good to me.We eat soup all year around because I like it!
The dogs are going to the vet today for their various shots. The weather seems to be cooperating as the heavier rains went to upstate New York and took their winds with them. It will be warm but manageable.

Tana told me the edible helped with her nausea a bit but she felt no other effects. She is confident in her decision and will try to see if she is able to eat a little more later. We hope for the best.

@CruisingSister, Lorraine. I am sure that you will enjoy your cruise with your family and create great memories. My Massachusetts family is currently cruising with Camilla and her group is pretty large.

Joy @Seasick Sailor prayers for Bonnie at her MRI!  Dennis is still coughing a bit and has the drainage all colds bring.  I have a little coughing but it feels more like the chronic cough I've had for years, than the cruise crud cough.  Thank you for asking!  I appreciate prayers for DB, twin sister and the little babies.  We have gotten those boys over the dangerous period and they will be joining the family on the 25th if all goes as planned - only 14 more days!!  👶  👶

Some cooler days, 88 today and cooler tomorrow and Saturday!  Nice!  Maybe it’ll help DH’s eye feel better. He’s trying some new anti-itch cream… I’m beside myself, so is he, we don’t know what’s going on!  And neither do the doctors. sigh. One day at a time….  But he can see… 🌈

Strange days to celebrate. My first thought was, It’s 7-11 day!  I hadn’t heard of a 7-11 until I moved out west at age 23!  I guess they are everywhere now.  (It’s a convenience store chain, open 7am-11pm, a novel idea 50+ yrs ago.).

🎂 HAPPY BIRTHDAY FR DAVID 🎉

Terry, glad Tana is feeling ok with the new approach. We’re with you!

Terri, hoping you can get hooked up with some support, maybe through the Alzheimer’s contact you made. I know there’s a lot going on, unsettling and painful, but don’t miss the opportunity to appreciate What’s good right now!  You may not have family support but you have us!  Sending gentle hugs.

Nancy, Joliet MO? That’s a far piece away!  Hoping your neighbor gets the help needed!
And thanks for the news that your DB is home! Ya-hoo! Hoping his IV meds did the trick!  And you can John can catch some fish…

Elizabeth, those bruises look nasty. Arnica salve might help clear them quicker, if you have access to it.

Sandi, St Anthony was on our Newfoundland trip itinerary, trip that didn’t happen when life got in the way… still hoping for “someday”!  Interested if you get to the Viking site!  The iceberg looks ominous!

Jacqui, you are making Amazing progress!  I’m glad you have help. Sorting and moving stuff forward took us several months!  A friend helped us advertise on a FB local yard sale page, especially DH’s tools.  It was often a tough parting but life is much simplier now. I found it just as hard mentally and emotionally as physically. When you rest, rest your mind too. And remember my lists: All the things you will not miss having to deal with; and all the new opportunities you will have, and the energy to do them!

@Mr. Boston Thinking of you both in your new environment!  🎉. We have great memories of Ogunquit ME!

Annie, you have an infectious positivity that helps me every day!  I’m sending it back to you!  Hope you all have a good day today!

Blessings to you all for a safe and grateful day!  Thanks for being here!
Maureen

Good morning from a sunny and windless central Texas.  It is 75F and feels like 75F with 84% humidity and a dew point of 70F.  Our predicted high is 97F with no chance of rain.  I need to go to the store and run another errand, which I plan to do as soon as I finish here, and before it gets too hot.

I will not be honoring Bowdler's Day since I do not believe in rewriting someone else work or censorship.  I think the world population is way beyond five billion now.  It is always good to cheer up the lonely or even someone who could be lonely.

I'm not a fan or this quote from Oscar Wilde.

We'll pass on the meal, drink and wine today.

We have not been to Maceio, but we've sailed by it from a great distance when sailing along the east coast of Brazil.

Today is another great day in England's and the Catholic Church's history.

@grapau27  Graham, please wish Father David a happy 51st birthday for us.  Thank you for the explanation of two or our days.

@kazu  Jacqui, I'm glad your neighbor is brining you boxes and taking things to a local charity.  If I lived closer, I would come help you get the house ready.

@ottahand7  Nancy, I'm sorry your neighbor hurt his eye, and they have to head home today.  I hope the eye heals quickly.  I hope your DB does all right at home and does not have any more problems with the knee until he see's the doctor.

@Mr. Boston  I'm sorry your cold is worse, and hope it's gone quickly.  Otherwise, I hope the move into your new home went smoothly, and you are beginning to settle in.

@smitty34877  Terri, I'm glad the edibles helped Tana with her nausea a bit, and that she didn't feel any side effects.  Her comfort should be the first consideration.  Camilla is still so cute and so grown up.  Thanks for sharing the picture with us.

@Seasick Sailor  Joy, I've cut my news watching way back.  I just don't want to hear the same stories over and over, much less the talking heads.  I agree the Texas bugs are relentless, and they have to be to survive in Texas.  Sending positive thoughts to Bonnie for her MRI today.

Maureen, we were in St. Anthony last year and the town was a quick walk through with not much to see, so this time we booked a tour of L'anse aux Meadows to see both the Viking sites.  We were there in 2018 on Seabourn and anchored right off L'anse aux Meadows which was quite nice.  No school bus ride from St. Anthony needed.  We walked to the Norstead, the Viking village nearest the dock.  We bought tickets and explored it and the tall hill nearest it.  We had a wonderful time.  This tour will take us to both Viking museums so we can enjoy the new one and the previous one again.  The iceberg this morning looked bigger than the previous ones I'd seen on this cruise.  Of course nowhere near the ones we've seen in places like Antarctica.

I hope Richard's eyes get some relief from that itching.  It must be quite uncomfortable for him.  Prayers!🙏

Well! There goes the neighborhood. You’ll be missed.

Thanks for the thoughts! The neighborhood will be fine. My double wide is still here!

@RedneckBob, like @marshhawk I didn’t want to hit any of the available options and would surely miss you if you went away for long.
@Seasick Sailor, Joy, sending prayers for Bonnie and for you and Allen as well. Tana appreciated your encouragement today and always.

Thanks for the thoughts. As you see, my absence was short lived!

Good morning! Yes, I accomplished my retirees rights this morning and slept in until 7:40. Will be getting out for my walk soon as Alexus just informed me it’s only 78 degrees outside but will rise to 92.

Need to get that promised haircut in and do some prep for our church small group tonight. Packing for this weekend will be very light and instead of suitcases we are trying to use backpacks. We are going to the beach so a couple of bathing suits and shorts and shirts should do. The beach house has washer and dryer. The issue is getting everything I.E. food and booze in a Lexus and the two seater Spyder! 🙏🙏

@kazu Jacqui. What a monumental task but the end rewards outnumber and will bring joy and ease to your life. Hang in there and in the meantime. 🙏

Okay thanks for all who have checked and posted and may all of you have a wonderful day. Bruce

Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann and Dixie and Graham for the FR&D.  Three interesting days but I understand it’s also Ice Cream Day.    Special prayers for Jacaui, Terri, Katherine’s friend, Sandi’s brother, Scottie,  Chuck, Bonnie and Tana.

Interesting quote by Wilde.

I have been to Maceio on the Maasdam in 2015 on a cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Rio.

I assume a sad day for Henry VIII.

I’ll pass on the meal.  My alternative is Apple and Pear Gazpacho, Braised Beef Short Ribs with Roasted Garlic Cloves, and Key Lime and White Chocolate Tart, the Mariner Brunch on my one and only Rotterdam VI cruise, a transatlantic in 2011.

Today is hot but not very humid with a lot of rain tomorrow through Saturday.  The treasurer was a no show yesterday but I did get a lot done working with the office manager.

Apologies for the double post- the "clear editor" button must have the morning off.

@Seasick Sailor prayers 🙏 for Bonnie during this morning's MRI.

@RMLincoln thanks for the tip on arnica salve.

@StLouisCruisers only 14 more days til the twin miracles arrive - so exciting! I know you'll share a picture when the big day gets here. Prayers 🙏 all continues to go well for them.

@marshhawk razors have nothing on kitty claws - those things are brutal. Our cat used to "fly" around the room landing on our shoulders (or wherever) - nothing hurts like a cat trying to hold on as gravity pulls him down your back or arm or leg... DH still has scars.🫣

My lap is full this morning ❤️ with another one patiently waiting his turn. I hate to tell them it's past time to crank up the work computer.
