Sandras cruise tours, Buyer beware: Months long investigation determines she owes passengers refunds

Recommended Posts

I am one of hundreds of people owed a refund from Sandras cruise tours. 9 months later and still nothing. A months long investigation has determined she is not truthful, she was refunded in full minus about $7.50 USD per person from the tour operator. Despite what she is telling everyone she kept our money and is spending it in the Casino. https://consumerrescue.org/cruise-fiascos/carnival-cruise-missed-greenland-excursion-refund/

We experienced issues with Sandra’s Cruise Tours on our Carnival cruise that ported in Santorini and fortunately we made it back to the ship. I emailed her about the issues and she responded that she would address these issues. After reading this post, I would never book with her again. Thanks for posting!👍

I booked once with her years ago, only got a partial refund when a cruise was canceled - I had to pay her refund fees and a reverse exchange rate, and have never considered her again. I  don't doubt that she has some satisfied customers.

She also has a tendency to rally the satisfied customers to defend her. Kind of a mob mentality.

After my experience I was told about a page dedicated to Sandra’s shortcomings on the site that shall not be named. Seems like she’s mad a lot of people upset. Like you said, enough people have had positive experiences so she’s still in business 🤷🏻‍♀️

I immediately thought of you when I saw her name - just reading your experience w/her during your Med cruise last year caused me anxiety.

I can't believe she is still in business.  Yes, there will be good, but when people see the bad and her doing everything she can to avoid the refunds, you would think she wouldn't keep getting new customers.

What sets people and companies apart is how things are handled in tough times, in good times it is really easy.  I was on this cruise, she got off at the first stop, which should have been a preamble to customer complaint resolutions that would follow.  If anyone is interested, there more than a couple of threads of this “experience”.   Living it live, there was a significant amount of “emotion” in the discussions on the ship.

You can say "do your research" but when an unscrupulous business like this has an army of (possibly fake) people singing their praises it is tough to make a smart decision. So yes, it isn't a bad idea to book your tours only through the cruise line - especially when you have a lack of trusted firsthand recommendations, or if you're unfamiliar with the port of call. When all you have to go by is internet advice, you can be led astray quite easily by someone who wants to do so.

Is a credit card chargeback not an option for you? Or if you paid via PayPal - a PayPal dispute?

She no longer accepts credit cards (I wonder why?). Payment is by Zelle or perhaps check. Zelle is something else I refuse to use.

Yeah I would never pay anybody via an irreversible payment method unless it was face-to-face. Zelle is like giving someone cash. There is no recourse.

Shady...

If I am not mistaken, she fought the charge backs, and changed the refund policy on her website to show the credit card companies that no one was owed a refund.

And she's still getting new clients? Not to victim blame, but at a certain point...

Yes she changed refundable into non refundable thst is why through a charge back is hard to succeed, Cc Cy sees "non refundable " that is all they look at and refuse the refund.

Didn't you start a thread about this same topic last year and it was locked?

Yes I did, back then we only knew a few things and what happened on the Greenland cruise but now when people started digging we learned a lot more about her so called business.

for ex. I called the Greenland excursion bureau and some other people in Greenland and I found out she never paid the vendor so she kept everyone's money. For the other excursion she did get the money back less a small amount pp

Another person of our growing FB group started digging on herself and learned that she has no licence no insurance and she is not bonded you take a high risk booking with her.

This all caused people a lot of money but also time and pain.

We just want to warn people that she is under investigation so you take a high risk doing business with her.

Side note:I got my money back because I won my CC claim a lot of us have never seen any dime or lost their claim.

I am on that cruise snd on this roll call and I did put a very polite warning about her tours and practice, I received a warning from CC. and my message got deleted. I am trying to figure out how to reach the CC moderator because I do not understand why my message was refused.

If someone can help me, thst would be great because I do not find a way to reach out to the mod.

You might try community@cruisecritic.com

We have tried to file a credit card chargeback but she sent them documents that were heavily redacted and the changed terms of service which she changed after she left the ship in Canada.

Oh, I thought you meant that the mods should post some sort of warning; I guess you're suggesting that the mods should leave posted warnings on CC.  Maybe... but I think it is more likely this thread will soon be locked as comments become more vitriolic and fact-light.

I just thought they are being inconsistent. They have allowed this thread. There is a thread in the Northern European section where someone says not to use some tour consolidator that is ongoing. But they censored it in a roll call. Roll calls especially often have posts about tours. This is not a TA about whom are not allowed to be mentioned whether positive or negative.

there is much more information now, is it possible to try to put in your claim again ?

you will find a detailed and very sufficient article on consumer rescue.org

afther that the storty exploded

cruise mummy, la lido loco, semiprocruiser.com,  cruise hive,  doug parker,  cruise radio

are all talking about her scam even John Heald answered how sorry he felt about what happened.

surely if you  send the information from consumer rescue.org they cannot unsee what is going on.

I am not sure if the moderator of CC will allow this post, you can reach out for help if you need.
