After the stop there on the Turtle Center tour I took from the Edge, one of the kids on the bus said "Well, Hell is boring" when we got back on the bus. Her mom and grandmother said "Please remember that when you get older..." 🤣

very cute story!

not much there but the post ofc from what I recall..

Well, I met the charming Charla, and ya’ll, her smile is bigger than Texas!
We took a selfie, but whenever I try to post it, it turns out upside down!

Gen Z and I have had a great sea day on Beyond!

But first, let me take you back in time to report on our Rooftop Grill dinner on night 4.

Our original plan was to go to Eden before dinner to listen to some live music, but Gen Z decided that she was hungry (yes again) and needed a snack to hold her over for the hour before dinner.  So instead we went for a walk around the Retreat pool deck to watch the sunset then went to the Retreat lounge and had some of the evening canapés and a mommy daughter pre-dinner Sprite and Decoy toast.

I don’t think the Retreat lounge was prepared to have a good number of visitors in the 6-7pm hour because there was only 1 bartender working and no waiters that I saw.  The bartender did his best and had a great attitude, but with 20 or so people spread out around the lounge and the poor guy having to take drink orders, make drinks and then run them to tables all by himself, drink service was pretty slow.

Fortunately we weren’t in a rush and managed to at least get one round in before we went to dinner.

At Rooftop Grill, we started with the dry rub chicken wings and a Caesar salad and we were both very happy with both.  Then Gen Z had a double entree of the filet mignon and branzino and I had my usual ribeye with a side of lamb chops.  The lamb chops weren’t as well seasoned as they’ve been before, but I still think that ribeye is better than the one at (more expensive) Fine Cut.

The only thing Gen Z left on her plate was the spinach that was served under her branzino.  What is it with kids and spinach???

For dessert, I introduced Gen Z to the heaven that is the chocolate chip cookie a la mode.  I knew she was just as much an addict as I am when after scraping the dish of the last morsel she asked “how much do you think we’d have to tip Mr. Rudy [our butler] for him to figure out a way to deliver this to us from room service every night?”.

It was a great opportunity to teach a lesson about things that money can’t buy (at least not the amount your parents can spend when your last name isn’t Kennedy, Bouvier, Mountbatten-Windsor, etc.).

@lola2013 we have a new member in our cookie dessert fan club!

When we got back to the room, we saw that our stateroom attendant Edy had made sure that EVERY family member sailing in our cabin would sleep in a properly turned down bed for the evening. 😂

I’m going to go get myself freshened up for dinner and then will do a couple of catch up posts later tonight about our sea day yesterday and the best birthday ever.

great photos, just love the mommy & me outfits, the " new" G Cayman turtle stuffy,  &  the mouthwateribg photos from the Rooftop Grill!

We will try a few of those items next visit but just so much food....a sampler plate would be fun or we can share!
