FREEDOM OF THE SEAS: BEHIND THE LENS. September 8-15, 2024

Recommended Posts

ADDENDUM:

Recently on another live thread a threader posted about her child developing what looked like white heads and then going into a full blown rash.

I believe she said she took them to the doctor and he said it was from an ant(??) bites.

Yesterday as we were flying home I  too noticed just one “white head” like pimple (zit) on my fore arm.
This morning it woke me up with a small rash  around the original “zit” area.

The only thing I remember was sitting down at the picnic tables at CocoCay and noticing all the tiny red ants in the sand when we were having lunch.

They were not close enough to us, or so I thought.

I do not remember getting bit. If I did the bite was not noticeable.

So I did what any nursey nurse would do. Cleaned it with alcohol and put Neosporin on it.

Will watch closely in case it gets worse.

Always something.

And I was in the marching band, and regular band and got a undergraduate degree in music. I can do 8 steps to 5 yards with my eyes closed. Lol. Been to a lot of games because I was in the marching band.

Sorry I'm just seeing this - I was in BGSU Marching band too, as a flag "twirler".  Fall of 1977.

DH and I were on here also. Did not post as we were  trying to be as off of the grid as possible.

We picked this cruise solely on the value. At our booking time, it was MUCH less that other options. We also go the key as it was also very inexpensive, and we got reservations in hideaway bay.

We love this size ship, not too big, not too small. I did feel that we waited on elevators more often than any other time, but no huge deal.

We did not do the production shows, but did do ice skating, a lot of trivia, the comedy team, marriage show, and Darla in the pub (recommended on here). Everything was great. Even scored a pair of Royal Caribbean pens for an evening trivia win.

Ate in MDR, early seating every night but Caribbean night as there was just nothing appealing on the menu. Ate that night in the WJ, and loved the Jamaican chicken and beef patties!

DH sat on the 13th deck for two hours on the second sea day as he wanted to watch the emergency evacuation. Much to everyone's shagrin, they cleared several open decks during the actual operation. Was glad to hear that person was able to get the help they needed. While on deck, DH ran into someone who was at the beach with the gentlemen who passed. He said the life guards were on top of it and did a good job, but after 45 minutes, no ambulance had shown up...

I stayed out of the casino all together. Just wasnt feeling any love from it.

Overall, cruise was great. Ship does need some love, but we still had a great time. Next up for us, 10 days on Explorer in February.

Have not seen parade of waiters in over 14 years.

We were on Wonder last week . I THOUGHT I would have no problem keeping up with your thread while I was on Wonder. Boy was I ever wrong! DH and the friends we were sailing with are all morning people I am not, but since I was outnumbered I became a morning person for the week. 😱 That was not an easy task for this night owl 🦉! By the time we got back to our room at night I was falling asleep faster than DH! Normally that never happens but last week for me schedule wise was anything but normal.

Now that I’ve had a couple of days at home I’m finally able to stay awake long enough to catch up here. I see that you had the parade of waiters too. We had it three times! Each of the last three nights. Enough already!

Thank you very much for sharing your cruise with us. I’ll be watching for your next live as I do enjoy following along with you on your cruises.
