Princess Premier No Longer Available to Book

I read this from Princess totally different.

From the Princess website:

"On sailings that begin in ports in the United States of California, Massachusetts, New York, Texas, Virginia and Washington, the alcoholic beverages portion of a Package will not take effect until the ship on which the guest is sailing is in international waters, as determined by Princess Cruises, and therefore any alcoholic beverages purchased by a guest before a ship is in international waters will be charged to a guest’s onboard account; no discounts will be provided to the Package price or refunds as a result of this."

 

This is the way I read and interpret the pkg.

"On sailings that begin in ports in the United States of California, Massachusetts, New York, Texas, Virginia and Washington, the alcoholic beverages portion of a Package will not take effect until the ship on which the guest is sailing is in international waters,

 

On sailings that begin in ports - beverages portion of PKG will not take effect 

UNTIL SHIP IS IN INTERNATIONAL WATERS.

 

So, once the ship is in International waters your package and beverage/alcohol is available. 

 

Not a problem as as soon as ship sails, it is a matter of minutes before you are in International waters. JMHO!

I deal with Princess employees when booking. Future cruise consultants are vendors like spa employees and casino employees

I am sure that there will be a desk set up front and center the minute they are in international waters begging you to upgrade to Premium.  They will probably be stationed at every elevator bank.

I just did a mock booking for Canada/ New England round trip New York Fall 2025. It allowed me to book with the Premier package for $90.

We board at 11:00 am, and we have unlimited Premier. 

 

For example, sailing out of Seattle, we are responsible for every single charge of alcoholic beverages from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm (usually the time we go out of the Strait of Juan de Fuca) in addition to the package we've paid for?

@startedwithamouse  I think you are stressing about this before it is warrented.  There have been no reports as of yet of charges from these ports.  You can book new cruises with the Premier packages as noted by several in this thread.  I think Princesses verbiage in the contract is covering their bases.  Asking crew or managers on board does not always result in the correct answer as they just don’t know in most cases.  I recommend everyone just chill for a bit and see how this plays out with boardings in the next few weeks/months.

I'm sailing on Coral out of Los Angeles in December, and I've been wondering why under Packages, I only see Plus as an option.  Is it because this cruise is out of California?  Because the new Premier hasn't officially started on Coral yet?  Some other reason?

@missnd  They have probably reached capacity.  With the new unlimited SD there is only so much space.

 

These full terms apply to both Packages, except as otherwise noted. Packages may be capacity controlled on select cruises. Packages and their parts are non-transferable, are not redeemable for cash and may not be combinable with other offers. Packages are not applicable to the land portion of cruisetours.

I suppose that's another possibility, but I would be very surprised if that's the case in this instance.  This is a 16 night cruise, that doesn't seem to be anywhere close to sold out at this point.   As I look at booking Specialty Dining, even with the limited choices on Coral, there is a ton of availability.  I can have my choice of reservation times even on New Year's Eve, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

@missnd  reaching capacity doesn’t necessarily mean everything is booked then they stop, but more of a number of packages available.  Also, we all know that the app and the Princess website undergoes many glitches on the weekends.  I would check closer to your cruise.

Looking at a new booking, Dec 19, sailing from LA in Coral - both Plus and Premier are available to purchase on a new cruise 

Not at capacity.

If you're looking at adding it as an extra via app/Personalizer - that may still be the known glitch leftover from when they changed Premier.  Call or use chat to purchase it.. 

 

Here's the Coral LA departure, Dec 19, 2025.

Both Plus and Premier available to purchase at booking, standard 60/90 pricing..

I've never sailed out of Galveston or Seattle when these packages were available.

I do note that it's "international waters as defined by Princess". Seems that may not be the traditional 12 mile limit definition. My experience is that once the Port/Harbor pilot leaves the ship, the casino and shops open up. Seems to me that the pilot leaving is the Princess definition of international waters.
