I was looking at Hotwire for a post cruise hotel on 10/28 in the Condado area. There is a price of $86/night with a price of $179/night on "other sites". The only amenities listed are free parking, free breakfast, and free internet. It is listed as a 4 star hotel.

Any idea what this could be? Would it basically be any of the resorts are are next to each other? Or something different? Thanks for anybody that can help.

I was looking at this one too (for sept)...i'm almost positive it's Ciqala .... I asked on better bidding and they agreed...

La Concha Resort

Be very cafeful...you may get Sheraton Convention Center. It is not even on a beach and no where near any of the other hotels....

Gone are the days when you could search for a resort and there were only 6 available options all of which were great...

Now those resorts are mixed in and Sheraton Convention Center is an option. Nice looking hotel, but not on the beach and walkable to NOTHING!!!!!

Sheraton is a nic hotel. Bu you are correct not close to anything. One thing that should help bidders is that the Sheraton is usually listed with casino as a feature.

The Sheraton Convention Center looks to be really close to the Pan Am pier, so I was leaning towards trying to get it through Priceline.. I'd like to be able to walk to the terminal on the morning of the cruise - is it a good option for that?

Since our departure (RCI, Jewel) doesn't happen until 8:30pm, I was hoping to also get off the ship and explore a bit after checking in; assuming because it's at the Pan Am pier, that would basically require a few expensive cab rides?

The Sheraton is close, as the crow flies, the way the road is laid out we decided we couldn't walk it, with luggage. But it was a cheap cab ride. And yes if you want to explore from Pan AM pier it is a pricey cab ride.

Is June 2014 too far outto bid on priceline.

Nothing stopping you from bidding early. Sometimes it works. Don't feel pressured though, as you can wait and bid closer to your departure. Don't forget to check both Hotwire and LMT too. Sometimes the deals are better there.

Cruzfiend, could I be so nosey as to ask what your bid was for LaConcha? Does the $175 include the resort fee also? We got that hotel last year on priceline and we loved it. Hoping to stay there again this year but alot of folks seem to be getting the Sheraton Convention Ctr now. We don't cruise until the end of January but I got the LaConcha about this time last year. I know it would just be luck if we got LaConcha again but it sure would be nice!! :)

Yes, you may be nosey;) I got La Concha for $150. , $176 w/taxes & other fees. (That does not include the resort fee.)

You did great, I could not get it to take anything under $170.00 before taxes when I did Priceline. I tried for 3 weeks. LOL!!! I am okay with what we paid but I like yours much better!!! LOL!!! :D

What were the amenities listed and how many stars? Thanks

It was a 4 star listed in Isla Verde. It has a 95% guest rating. I don't remember all the amenities listed, but I know it had resort, beachfront, restaurant, pool, fitness, casino, spa....

From what I understand, there are only 3 4star hotels in Isla Verde. The Water and beach Club (which lists as a boutique hotel), El San Juan and The Intercontinental. A friend of mine received El San Juan hotel and her amenities were similar to the Intercontinental, but it only had an 80% guest rating. So I was thrilled when I seen this one listed, but with a 95% guest rating...I was pretty sure it was the Intercontinental before I booked it!

Very pleased!!!

We have stayed at the Intercontinental before and it is very nice. LaConcha is closer to the old town, that is the only reason I prefer it. But I'll take whatever priceline give me. :)

Susan

I've been watching Hotwire to try and get LaConcha for our post cruise hotel. Haven't stayed there, but I checked it out the last time I stayed in San Juan and it looked beautiful!
