Don't book this (these) rooms

I am booked in cabin 10004 on the msc poesia. My concern is that there seems to be a staircase behind the room for the staff and the deck just below has white boxes. Wondering what these may be and the noise level. We are also all the way at the front of the ship of deck 10 (Carducci). Hope I am not in for a noisy night.

Just a huge THANK YOU for folks who come on here and add "info" about cabins.

It isn't always a negative. I mean if someone closes down the disco every night...then a cabin near the disco won't be an issue.

I also discovered that all I have to do is come to this thread and

do a SEARCH THIS THREAD with my cabin number to see if :

1. it is the cabin on my ship ( or a sister ship)

2. there are any issues.

Thanks again...and keep up the great work!!!

Help!

I was in Romance suite [back of ship] Prices went way down so I changed to Penthouse suite [front of ship]

Was this a mistake? Balcony is 144 sq/feet. But at sea three out of six days. Will it be too windy to use the balcony.

These suites at the front of the ship are very expensive so it seems the balcony should be ok?

Also the pictures look like no slider to balcony, a door off to the side, is this correct?

Should I have stayed at the rear of the ship?

Thank you

All help welcome!

VALOR Cabin 6365

is being reported as noisy from the Casino and Music.

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1088915

I have reported that these cabins on the starboard side from the midship elevators to the aft elevators will get sound from a band that sets up outside the casino bar and dont start playing until 9pm every night.

Does anybody know if this cabin is noisy? It kind of looks like it's above a lounge. Any other info on this cabin? We've never been this far aft before on a ship. Any comments welcome. Looks like a good sized balcony.

6230 is located very far forward. Its above the show lounge. The balcony is the same size as the rest of them

Why did you think this cabin was far aft??

Oops, just got mixed up--guess I had aft cabins on my mind. I knew it was forward. We took a chance with a guaranty this time so we'll see if it was worth the huge discount or not. Considering we are saving over $500 per person, we were willing to take the chance. Maybe we will become late night cruisers this time if it turns out to be noisy.

the main shows are done by 10:30 so you shouldnt hear anything from the lounge.

I sailed in this cabin last April. Eurodam H4113

It is a fully obstructed OV cabin.

However, the window looked out on a lifeboat, which had windows - and I could see some of the view through those windows. Not all lifeboats were the same style.

Hi all,

Has anyone stayed in 7514 (or 7214 on the starboard side) on any freedom class ship? We're cruising in this stateroom in Aug. It's the forward most balcony with the curved glass so you can see forward and the side.

Thanks, Mary

Mary: Can you tell us about your stay in 7514 on LOS? We just booked 7214 and are curious about the balcony. Any info would be much appreciated!!!

I replied to the other thread- the area you are alooking at is crew stairs used by crew only to get from deck to deck. The door is on the other side. you wont get noise from this area.

Hi!!

We are going on the Carnival Fascination and will be staying on the Empress deck. Is it better to select a cabin in the front where you will be right under the stage/lounge or in the back which is right under the dining room? I am a very light sleeper and would prefer to stay on a lower deck that has rooms above and below but there arent any available on any lower decks. Can anyone help??

Thanks!

for me-- its closer to the food/ pools since i will be visiting that area multiple times a day- Show lounge--maybe once a niight..

Being under the dining room is good-- its carpeted so you wont get noise.

Dont go too far past the aft elevator then you will get vibration shudderings

Every day around 3-4 am we were awaken by a dragging sound then a pounding sound. Could not figure out what the noise was--checked on the spa deck and the sauna was above us--employees said that the spa was locked up tight after midnight. My theory--cleaning crew dragging sections of sauna wooden floor, cleaning underneath than dropping sections back in place. The noise would only last for about 2-3 minutes. Fortunately, we were able to fall back to sleep, but it was annoying, especially since heard how quiet it was on the panaroma deck. I prefer the Lido deck.

Just booked this cabin today - has anyone else stayed in it? I see that some people are bothered by noise from the pool area above when they stay on Riviera deck, but others aren't bothered at all. Just wondering if anyone has stayed in this cabin!

  • 4 weeks later...

As you can tell from my signature....WE LOVE CARNIVAL.

However, I am also very honest with my reviews and think that folks should be aware that until Carnival corrects the problem....SOME interior Spa cabins on Deck 11 have a noise problem.

We were in 11223, but I know that several cabins on either side of us had this issue as well.

When the ship is under pull power (20+ knots) and there are ANY seas at all (not just big waves)....there is a POUNDING noise that lasted for 18 hours on Friday Dec 4th until the next day. Unfortunately, it kept us up all night.

It sounded like a GONG and on multiple occasions SHOOK the entire cabin.

The good news is that as long as we were not under max power (and as long as the seas were smooth)....the cabin was fine.

So it was only one day out of our 9 day cruise (which we had a BLAST ON by the way) ....but it was a constant gonging that should be corrected.

(10 times in 3 minutes during one of the sessions that I timed)

I was booked in 2462 on Triumph, one of the two middle cabins across the aft, that was a 6D. I really was looking forward to the experience, but when I walked into the cabin, I was like what???!!! It was clearly smaller than 220 s.f. OV which I thought I would get.

Add the two cabins across the middle of the aft to the list not to book, smaller, bad storage, lots of vibration, not a deal.

Follow up to Fireflys post. I had 2456 on the same Triumph cruise as her. While it is a very large oversized corner aft O/V cabin it was the noisest and most shake and bake cabin I have ever been in. There is a very uncomfortable unharmonic vibration from some mechanical machinery directly below it. Makes the entire room vibrate and shake constantly. Very hard to relax much less sleep. I would recommend that everyone stay away from this one. It was the only cabin that I have had on a Carnival ship that I was truly dissatified with and would never consider booking again.

We have 2415 coming up in less than 2 weeks. We will be able to tell how far UP the hallway this goes.....
