Are you thinking of the James Squire brewery? Its right at the ferry wharf, so we are fairly well acquainted with it.

I'm not sure I want to start drinking that early though

Thanks Karon, but you guys organise where you want to meet, and we will catch up:p its just that Geri's partner has to work till early hours that morning, and he needs his sleep to cope with us lot:eek: so said I would wait for her to get there, then come across on the ferry together. Anywhere suits us:)

Not sure we'll make in early enough to join you for drinks... On the way in from Paramatta, we want to calll at the hotel we're staying at that night (Oaks Hyde Park) to see if we can leave our luggage there (even if we can't checkin that early).

Of course Karen:p Geri and her partner are meeting us at Kirribilli, as parking is free out front of our accommodation, the ferry leaves at 10.30am arriving at Darling Harbour Aquarium at about 11am, so if you can think of anywhere around there, sounds good. I know there are lots of cafes and bars around there, but dont know the names of any,

There is a pub nearby - Pyrmont Bridge Hotel, across the lights from Harbourside monorail (Union St). Is open 24hrs if anyone wants an early start. ;) Anything outside Star City?

We might just settle for Starbucks in the Quay before ferrying around. Might pack some smuggling alcohol in case I get thirsty. ;)

If we have a glass of wine at 11.00am, it is really 1.00pm in New Zealand and 2.00pm in Fiji. Close enough, I reckon. :p

And you know what they say......."it's 5'oclock somewhere".

Mmmm......sounds like a good name for a song;)

Update on Queen Vics progress for you all.

She was in Napier today.Arrived at noon.

Napier is a small town and the local press gave her a HUGE build up,so much so that just about everyone in the Hawkes Bay Province turned out to see her.Cunard gave Napier its first experience of gridlock. Nothing moved,(according to news reports) for 4 hours.

I watched her sail in on the cam and was amazed at how she could manoeuvre in such a small port.Just amazing.

Was reading one of the Sydney papers (can't remember which one??), and they have a cruising special. One also, not sure if it is the same one, has a special liftout for the two Queens.

There was a whole page ad for next weekend, and what was happening when and where.

They're meant due past each other at 6.30pm on Sunday I think.

Anyway...this time next week we'll nearly be ready to sail on the best Harbour in the world, to see one Grand Old lady for the last time, and to welcome a new ship to our shores.:)

See most of you next week.....;)

Hey Jarrod:)

Yes,I posted earlier on this thread about the lift out in todays Sunday telegraph, but it dissappeared:rolleyes: must be the Herald that had the Two Queens info, the Telegraph has some great cruising info this week.:p

The Sunprincess will sail past them both at 4pm, then QV leaves from OPT at 6-6.30pm, and the QE11 moves from Garden Island to OPT for overnight. Think we will have good view from Kirribilli side to watch them leave after our harbour cruise:p (have to pick the car up from there) Fish and chips and bubbly..........have to remember to pack the picnic basket

Some great deals indeed. One grabbed my attention in particular. It was one from Miami, through the Panama Canal, up to Mexico then up to Alaska. It was a 30 day package including airfares for just over $5000. An absolute bargain!!Shame it was for April this year.:(

With the strong AUD vs USD it is a great time to bag a few for overseas.

Looking for 2010 now.....

Must be sensitive info Chez,

I posted some similar stuff about ship movements and it vanished too (are we being off topic).

To add for any one around the harbour on the weekend, Vicky is due in at 5am Saturday, Lizzy is due in on 5am Sunday and Sunny is due it at 5:30 Sunday. Looks like an alarm clock occasion on Sunday morning. Hope the Rhythm Boat has coffee onboard (and has to be better than Horizon Court)

Uncle Arthur, do you recognise my avatar? HINT: Probably the richest, ugliest woman in the world.

Not really, I should get out more often. Am pretty sure it isn't Oprah though.

Might take a guess at Ivana Trump though.
