FinelyCruising Posted November 2, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2007 My Opinion as one who has booked.... From the time this ship was released to the market, which is now quite some time, the deck plans continue not to be synched with any cabin selection on the X website. Since this is marketing driven I can't imagine how the cruiseline can be so incredibly silly. In business a cover letter filled with typos or mistakes would be associated with a representation of a lack of quality, time and attention to detail...here a new ship has been introduced, the website is hardly a pressed and printed brochure that is incapable of immediate and instant correction, and still, in all this time the cruiseline pays no mind to the failure of a cabin selection mechanism that actually does work for every other ship in the line for this particular new roll out. What is wrong with the team of this cruiseline that this is allowed to continue to occur? Surely this reality does not inspire confidence in me! hajekfam Posted November 2, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 2, 2007 It could be because the not all the plans are revealed yet. It looks like Clebrity is going to release the details little by little to keep up the suspense.
Rare Jim_Iain Posted November 2, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 2, 2007 I have to agree that Celebrity often misses the point of some simple items that could result in increases to shareholder equity. Your examples of lack of attention e.g. cover letter is inexcusable/ Take another area. The webcams which were incredibly popular disappeared about a year ago and they have done nothing to replace them. I could set up cameras on their ship in less that a couple days... I don't understand it, unless they had a non-compete clause with their previous vendor.

Longboysfan Posted November 2, 2007 #6 Share Posted November 2, 2007 Is the lack of cameras a privacey or a ship security issue? Security issue on the ship. I also think they are making the special areas of the deck - inside - and will reveal what they have close to the launch. With the $$$$$$'s spent above a standard build of the same size, my guess is Celebrity is packing in the best they have to offer. Like two or more specialty resturants. An enlarged game area in the casino for Texas Hold em. A specialty lounge area for the elite members. A special new type of T pool. And..... Their IT staff that is responsible for the web site is obviously incompetent and (as most IT staffs that are filled with arrogant 'little boys') could care less. FinelyCruising Posted November 2, 2007 Author #8 Share Posted November 2, 2007 I guess its IT....and it's sure odd to me after all this time after the release of the cabin selections that it's still not working on the site. Do you think they don't know about it yet?:D
Senga Posted November 2, 2007 #9 Share Posted November 2, 2007 We looked into booking Solstice but, until we know where the public rooms are, especially the ones we want to avoid being close to, we'll wait.
FinelyCruising Posted November 2, 2007 Author #10 Share Posted November 2, 2007 We usually select the residential decks for that reason and we were able to make our selections with the plans as they are at this point.
Cruiser Susie Posted November 6, 2007 #11 Share Posted November 6, 2007 Hi, Cheryl... so you are booked on the Solstice... how exciting! :D When are you going... want to be able to wish you a spectacular trip and Bon Voyage! Take care...
Rare hcat Posted November 6, 2007 #12 Share Posted November 6, 2007 We're taking a chance & have booked a nice cabin location over a public deck area--we have been in the same midships spot before & it was not a problem. Since this is the inaugural if we waited ,then cabins may all be taken..I have no idea how they design the ships so maybe some details are still fluid? FinelyCruising Posted November 7, 2007 Author #13 Share Posted November 7, 2007 Hello Sue-- I owe you and email so we can get caught up, and I want to hear about that beautiful new baby too! Right now we are booked for Solstice for the 3/29/09 sailing, so its quite far out at this point, and since it's only 7 days we think we will do a pre-cruise in the Keys for a bit. Will be in touch with you soon! Best Regards, ~Cheryl

Get a room that has only the passanger decks on top and the bottom.
