Pasta Cafe is a wonderful place for dinner. Great views and the food is delicious. I think we would have dined there more if we'd known what a great experience it was. It's also no charge, but make your reservations 24 hours in advance to get the time you'd like.

If you want a nice quiet lunch on embarkation day, Seven Seas is open. They may try to direct you to the buffet, but just tell them you'd like to dine in there. Believe me, the Lido deck is a mass swarm of everyone.

LOL :D Oops

I'll do one.:p

FULL size shrimp in the shrimp cocktails available ONLY in the dinner buffet on deck 10.:)

I'm going to go to the opposite end of the spectrum....something I didn't like...the showers. There is no kind of lip on the floor so the whole bathroom floor got wet when someone showered. I really think I'm going to take a squeege this time and squeege the water back into the shower. At least the floor will dry faster. Nothing like being all dressed, going to make one last potty stop and the floor is soaked.

Hi Cinderellie,

Hope you don't mind me asking a question on your post. ;) We were thinking of trying Majesty as well. My question, since you don't have dinner the same time every day or sit at the same table how do you tip the staff?

If you are a ship buff, you can see the outline of her past on her funnel. Majesty Cruise Line is able to be seen under layers of paint. Another fun thing is to detect where her midsection was inserted when she was stretched in the late 90's. They did a great job with her lengthening at Meyer Werft and it is very difficult to detect.

Hey jjtt

NCL adds $10 per person to your daily room charge to cover wait staff on board. It's still customary to tip your room steward separately. Extra tipping at the bar is at your discretion...15% is already added to the drink bill....hope this helps

Thanks live2dive. We have cruised on Royal Caribbean and like to tip at the end of our cruise. We tip acorrding to the service we get. We are not high maintaince people. ;)

Here is something a little different. With all of the wonderful smoked fish including lox, you would think they would have a decent bagel on board. They do not and I bring my own.

My husband loves Majesty's bagels!! LOL Oh well, food preferences are so personal!

The stewards get part of the service charge. Extra tipping to them is also at your discretion.:)

OK, (duh). There is a trend starting.... trust a woman who works in family court... where a baby is named, for example "La-ah." Yes, La-DASH-ah. Trust me.

Really? They're not those little brine shrimp that are served in the main dining rooms? I've only eaten dinner on one NCL ship at the buffet and it was okay, not great. So I'm not familiar with them. May just have to change my mind if they have REAL shrimp! LOL

The daily service charge is added to your bill and it is now $12 per person, per day. It includes your waiters, your room stewards and everyone that works behind the scenes to make your trip enjoyable.

Bartenders, casino staff, Spa and kids club are not included in the service charge pool. However, when you purchase drinks, a 15% gratuity is added on to the tab.

At the end of your trip, (or during it if you'd like) you CAN leave extra money for anyone you would like to compensate extra but it is NOT expected nor required.

Many people complain about the policy but I love it. No running around trying to find people who you want to tip, no wondering if you left enough, or didn't. It's painless and easy IMO.

Shhhhhhhhhh.... here's what I did a number of times, I went and had the schrimp cocktail or maybe two if there were a lot out and no one was waiting....didn't want to be a piggy, then went to the restaurant for dinner. We like the Four Seasons better and made great friends with the matre 'd who always took care of us so we tipped him well at the end of the cruise;)
