Ditto. I play every night I can, wherever it is offered. I would love to see it on all Carnival ships! We have just booked cruise numbers 25 and 26 and I am looking at where they have pickleball to book the next. I sometimes get bored on sea days, but I will spend every moment possible playing pickleball. Yes, I have a dinking problem! 0-0-2 is my lucky number!

I play 5-7 times per week...Definitely wonder how the wind will affect it. We were just on Vista and they didn't have it (early July). According to website they now have it. I hope they will ACTUALLY have it open...put nets out, balls out, etc. Has anyone actually played on board? We go on Breeze in December and my paddle will be coming with!!!

Yet another question about bringing wine onboard
cruisemom67 replied to schmoopie17's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
If that is the case, perhaps they should tell you it is charged as you bring it on board. For example, if I bring 10 bottles, can I bring them all on board? Maybe I decide only to drink 5 of them. Do they give me a refund if I didn't consume? -

How do they know if you open it in your stateroom? Silly wording! I assume they just charge you when they see you bring it on board? -
How does included specialty dining work?

I LOVE snails! Cruised RCCL in June and they had them on the menu every night. So I did, too! -

What about Cagneys on the Free at Sea program? -
Our rooms used to be ready as soon as we boarded. But the last 2 Carnival cruises we were on, at least one of our platinum rooms were NOT ready. This is new due to Covid. Hopefully they will return to Pre-covid standards, but you can't expect them always to be ready. I usually board first appointment, as we are 25 miles from.a port.

**** CARNIVAL COVID TESTING THREAD #2 **** JANUARY 6, 2002
cruisemom67 replied to CeleBrat's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
We also did this several weeks ago. It is very easy, but watch a video on YouTube beforehand. Sometimes the proctor you get has trouble with English. We didn't wait more than a minute or two. -
I agree, need more choices. I just got off RCCL in Europe, and they had better channels than Carnival has here.

Should I worry about my pre-cruise Covid test?
cruisemom67 replied to yakefu's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Considering we all have to TEST negative prior to boarding, I think it has everything to do with this post. Perhaps you can make the connection (as many of us have gotten Covid on a cruise, including my entire party 3 weeks ago) that the pre-test is a joke. It doesn't stop anything, and the cruise lines need to stop requiring it. When we got Covid, we had some sniffles and disembarked in Barcelona. We walked over 10 miles each day for the next 4 days and found out we had covid. There's no stopping it. Many people don't realize they have it. Getting these tests does nothing but increase our anxiety. My post about getting the emed test is for the one traveling in August who said there were no rapid tests available in their area. I should have quoted them. -

Buy the proctored emed test, unless you HAVE to do a PCR. We bought 6 for our Mediterranean cruise, took 3 online as we left. Results in 15 minutes. Thankfully didn't have to use the other 3 as they rescinded the testing requirements to return to USA. -
I never got the night lights. We did get some nice mini backpacks we use all the time on cruises. Also got nice ball caps (my husband wears them, I don't). Overall we have gotten some nice things. Wasn't happy with the koozies or the luggage tags we recently got. But it's a GIFT. So anything is nice.
-
I kind of doubt they will be giving anything very nice until things get mostly back to normal. Sailing below capacity with lots of reduced rates is not great for business, especially after stoppage (and bleeding money) due to covid. Hoping they will recover soon.

As Platinum, we quickly drop off our wine and soda, then immediately leave. We are the ones you see pushing the doors open. However, it IS allowed for diamond, platinum and suites. Before covid, our rooms were ready whenever we boarded, but understandably, that has changed. I don't like carrying the heavy stuff around, so we get in, get out and enjoy the ship.

My daughter went in March and had the platinum party. The free seaday drinks are in ADDITION. Even gold gets free drink coupon. I think Gold gets to use them anytime, while platinum just gets them during seaday brunch. I don't drink early (I would nap the day away if I did), so I take the wine and pour it back in to my empty bottle I already drank from carryon.

That's what we got in February. Hope they will change it. Went in December and got Tervis Tumblers. LOVED THAT!

I do this, too. Bring our own tissue box, instead of that sandpaper they give you. You definitely need better tissues when you get Covid on the ship....(yes, true story. On RCCL).

We did this on the last 2 cruises. We are platinum, so no line. Took a few minutes and DONE.

Long time CCL traveler cruises RCCL for first time
cruisemom67 replied to Tongiejayhawk's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
We cruised Royal a few weeks ago. I agree with most of OP comments. Also, if you or your child has allergies, CCL is MUCH better. Royal almost killed my oldest child TWICE with nut allergies. First cruise she ended up in their ER area after they accidentally had a nut from their butter pecan ice cream fall into her chocolate ice cream. Second cruise she was told she could eat something with pesto in it. She didn't as she knew most pestos are made with cashews (she loves pesto and usually makes her own and leaves out the nuts). This last cruise, my youngest daughter came with. She has sensitivity to both gluten and dairy. In Windjammer, she was told she could eat salmon or the vegetables. She doesn't like salmon. She ate rice. They did try to make it better the next day after we complained, but she lost 4 pounds on the cruise. She weighs 120 (she's 22) and didn't need to lose weight. We definitely prefer CCL. I will say that we took 2 four-day cruises on CCL in the last 7 months. Many of the people on these cheap cruises were talking about all the drugs they brought on board. They were not the usual clients I see on cruises. Made me very uncomfortable. We are going on a 7 day in July with CCL. Hopefully the passengers will be better. Honestly, if they are not, we may find another line. We are not fans of NCL, so we may keep looking! -
Pickleball Lessons on Symphony?
