  1. We would love a cabana with air conditioning to escape the heat and sun, but it seems the only option that I’ve seen is cabana beach. But, lack of sandy beach water access is a no go for us. Anyone know of another? We have kids that love the inflatables, so our thoughts right now is Playa Mia, and using the food area to escape the heat/sun.
  2. But, couldn't the A1 be the result of the 10am arrival time, and have nothing to do with VIFP status? (other than the 2 day head start on picking an arrival time).
  3. I guess the egift cards for all countdown was, what, 10 days early? Strange thing is, they are now advertising Carnival as a featured product, though when you click on it, the page is blank. Didn't see this yesterday when they actually had the cards. Time will tell about coming back, I guess.
  4. I agree that they need to raise revenue. But, customer satisfaction is also of prime importance;, for both repeat business and referrals to new cruisers. Small touches, like free popcorn, go a long way for that. A charge for this, a charge for that, starts to annoy people, decreasing overall satisfaction. Charge for the bigger stuff (excursions, photos, alcohol, etc.) but keep tons of the smaller things included. The same person who pays $150k for a car will grumble the dealership charged them fifty cents for an air freshener. Raise prices by $5 per passenger and give away $2 per passenger in free stuff will give more revenue and higher guest satisfaction than the $5 lower fare but charging $1 for the stuff.
  5. Given that cruising is a luxury item, in fine with charging what the market can bare. Prices will even out with demand. Or, if demand isn't there for a price point above costs, it'll no longer be offered. Time will tell. However; the prices ARE shocking. Not just carnival, or cruising, it's everywhere. And, worth talking about, in general. So, when someone notices a sharp price hike, post it.
  6. Well... all that weed gave them the munchies 😈
  7. When our 2020 cruise was cancelled the email said I would get physical gift cards via fed ex in about 2 months. I was supposed to get the cost of the whole cruise plus excursions. I got a single gift card for $99 for the pixel package (5 photos + a canvas - that was a good deal!) turns out the rest were sent via e-cards a month earlier, but I didn’t catch them as I wasn’t expecting e-cards! LUckly they were able to track them down and resend all the gift card emails. Point is, don’t trust the method they’ll send them back to you, look for all ways until you get them.
  8. It really seems like it should be, but there’s not even a way to get arrival times simultaneously for 2 cabins you booked yourself.
  9. OK, you all convinced me. We’ve booked with Larry’s for our July cruise on horizon.
  10. For our group of 8: Purchasing without transfers, and paying for cab: $300 Purchasing with r/t transfers: $380 Thanks!
  11. Excursions I booked back in Dec are now $30 more per person. That's a crazy increase. Good luck Carnival filling the spots up.
  12. I remember getting free popcorn for the movie on Pride, in 2016. The popcorn was extremely salty and, otherwise, tasteless. When the movie ended, I went to drink about a gallon of water. Perhaps if the popcorn was better, it wouldn't have wound up all over the deck to be cleaned up.
  13. Just to be clear, by "not in a long time" I meant pre-covid. Good luck, you never know if they'll come back or not.
  14. I have seen Princess cards, but very rarely, and not in a long time.
  15. Huh. I win the 100 pts for pac man each time, easily. Too many days playing my Atari 2600, I guess. Though, this week I've had nothing but scratch and lose.
  16. This is easier: Carnival - Check Your Balance (ourgiftcards.com)
  17. Call carnival, or your ta, with names, cabin numbers, and booking numbers, and they can link them for dinner. You can add companions to your booking page with the add booking link. It works the same whether it is in your name or someone else's. This allows you to manage their booking (such as book excursions, specialty restaurants, etc.). I don't know if this would automatically link them for MDR table or not.
  18. We'll be on her in August. Thanks for the review! Did you try guys, blue iguana, or the bbq place? If so, how were they?
  19. Apparently there's a pool complex inside the cruise port area, for cruise ship guests only. Other than checking that out, we plan on making it a sea day at port.
  20. At midnight, do you need to refresh the page, or does the link go live automatically?
  21. This happened to us in October. Went to put them back in... and it wasn't there. Booking was mistakenly canceled by carnival (this is an August cruise, payment due in May). Called ta. They got cabin back by rebooking. Ta insisted carnival give us additional $50 obc for our trouble. Lesson is, if booking disappears, look into it immediately. Always.
