  1. Me Too!! Love that motion of the ocean, rock and roll! However, I can't really complain since I was aboard the Star in October 2015 when joacquin rolled across the Atlantic and we sailed almost directly through it. I saw more casts and braces in 1 day than I'd see in ER in a couple. Talk about ignoring what the captain advised to do. HOLD ON!! and or stay put.
  2. I'm afraid some of us might have a difficult time agreeing but... who knows. I'm afraid I love Mother Nature... what she can do is amazing and how our wonderful crewmen can handle it is even more amazing... I love the motion of the ocean and grateful that the ships we're on are able to keep us safe most of the time. I will not stop cruising!
  3. I love the Pearl. We had a wonderful cruise on her several years ago and if I could remember the several wonderful servers in the MDRs we dined I'd mention them; however, just imagine if everyone here who's read and enjoyed this thread decides to ask for the same server were all to ask for Red... How in the world would they manage? NCL does not recommend asking for a specific server but to simply give them a huge kudos so that they receive the wonderful accolades they deserve. Please, just ensure that you make sure you fill out the proper info regarding your servers.
  4. Isn't that when they offered the 3 specialty dinner for about $57 pp? I think that was offered on our first cruise on the Star in Feb. 2012?
  5. I agree with you and just to be clear, I was just referring to #6 on the Latitudes Program site: 6 Benefit is available on sailings 5 days or longer, and entitles each guest to an appetizer, one entrée and dessert of choice. Upcharges apply to certain premium menu items; Raw Bar Seafood Platter is not included. Bottle of Wine offered in all venues offering Complimentary Wine list, Palomar not included. In à la carte restaurants, coupon can be redeemed for 4 menu items per person (Sushi, Wasabi, Nama, Teppanyaki, Hasuki, Food Republic, Pincho Tapas Bar or Raw Bar). Additional entrées will incur supplemental charges. Dinner coupons are non-transferrable. Solo guests cannot claim two dinners. Coupons can’t be used for the same venue twice. 2 guests maximum. Dining options vary by ship. I do think that only le Bistro and Cagney's offer the wine lists but could be wrong and would ask the question of the host or hostess to determine if there is a wine list available.
  6. I get a free bottle of wine due to Latitude status. However, it has always been available at either Cagney's or Le Bistro, not just le Bistro. Obviously that may have changed like so many other things. https://www.ncl.com/ca/en/latitudes-rewards-program
  7. Doesn't the tax on certain things, alcohol, food, items, whatever, depend on what part of government set the tax in the first place. I mean there's municipal, county, state, federal... can't they all decide what and how much to tax? Makes sense to me anyway.
  8. We liked this setup as well. I found it difficult to understand why so many didn't like the balcony setup. I found it really convenient.
  9. Yeah, I've both ships as well, the Escape was just this June. I'd be happy with either.
  10. That's a very wide open question. I can assure you that if people didn't like her, the cruise itins would not fill so often. I haven't been on her for a few years but I've booked a TA on for next April. If you're looking for specific information, I'd suggest you mention what it is you're looking for. IMO, she's very fine ship.
  11. No need to apologize, perhaps I should. I tend to be a bit of a jokester though not around here, much. The insides look attractive. I stayed in a studio in my June cruise on Escape; unlikely to do another studio although they're fine for most. Hope you enjoy your NCL cruises.
  12. Oh, I had no idea there was a "single inside", a studio, yes
  13. And, your understanding could be correct but so could mine... really I'm just putting it out there not to post your bidding strategy. You really don't know what could happen with your bid.
  14. Yeah, I wouldn't be posting what you're bidding, especially a low bid, very easily out bid, hardly worth the time to do it. But, good luck anyway, lol.
  15. Hey Deb, I totally agree. I've only done 1 Studio but totally agree with your estimation of the size. I'm average size but would think most would be quite comfortable in a studio. I've only done 1 studio, on the Escape but was pleased with the cabin itself. The fact that I will likely not book another studio has absolutely nothing to do with the Studio Cabin itself. I just love my balcony.
  16. I always dine at Cagney's the 1st night. Gotta start the cruise off right, it's all about the 7-layer chocolate cake, lol.
  17. I had that same experience on the Escape this past June 25 cruise and the Solo Host admitted that it was done so that other solos could join the group around 5PM. However, what happened was that kids came in and took cookies and whatever else they wanted and the GM they were with, paid for a glass of wine too. No harm, no foul.
  18. I was just in a Studio and met a very nice gentlemen who was our Solo Host. That is what they prefer to be called. I've also been in a few suites and been lucky enough to have a few great Concierges, there is a vast difference between a Studio Host and a Concierge. Done! Please show some respect to others.
  19. The only coffee I can really say I enjoy is the French Press and so when we stayed in a suite, we'd have it every morning... great coffee last time I had it.
  20. I checked the "Gifts and more" on both my upcoming cruises and could find zero flowers listed. What @Pitzel has advised is correct. I did see lots of food and wine available though.
  21. https://boards.cruisecritic.co.uk/topic/2871921-spiegel-tent-on-epic/ This post discusses the Spiegel tent.
  22. I came across this when searching for the tent. I went to the Circus show back in 2013. It still shows as Spiegel tent on deck 6 mid ship. What I'm not sure about is how recent this site is. I shows lots of info and pictures as well. I'm booked again on Epic in April '24 as a solo. I'd be interested to know if they've changed the venue to something else or maybe just the type of entertainment.
