Read all my posts it is fabulous for those planning to book the nc anyway. A gift. They didn’t care about the loss and booked anyway. Huge benefit not so great for others who really had no intention of returning and I believe that is the target audience of the offer hard to book all 5 cruises especially if you’ve already booked other cruises because you did not intend to return to nc 20% back on raised prices not so attractive If you book long cruises even harder to recoup the money wait for bankruptcy??? I said I applaud crystal for doing something. That was my very first post. I find the terms and restrictions less than favorable for me. I am booked well into 2025. My cruising friends are in same situation. it will be great for those who lost money and wanted to book anyway there is no contradiction at all

Yikes. No immediate discount? We have to wait for the bankruptcy? And then a promise of money?? fool me once

Because if I spend 160 days on world cruise eg where is there time for most to take 4 more cruises in the allotted time period? Many of us take very long cruises. Add to that many who plan to return to nc have other bookings. If you have nothing booked through 2025 and take shorter cruises it will work for those wanting to return

I believe it is intended to attract those who wouldn’t go back because of all the lost money. They want those folks to book. I don’t think it will have big impact

I don’t plan to get off any thread my opinion is as valid as anyone else’s i suggest you read all my posts on this issue before making any more inaccurate comments in sum i said I applaud new crystal for making the offer at all. Go back and read i do not think the terms are favorable to anyone except those planning to sail nc anyway will it attractthose on the fence? No ideA 20% off prices that are 20% higher is not a bargain u less you wanted to sail the nc anyway 5 cruises in 3 years that exclude b2b gvs and world cruises is not generous imo any avid cruiser such as myself is already booked well into 2025

The offer is not “generous” I said it was a nice gesture of good will and I applaud it the terms are insane it will work well only for those planning to be regulars with the new company and I am happy for those who can take advantage of it and it does stink that 5 cruises can’t include b2bs or grand voyages. Makes it much harder to squeez3 in 5 cruises to get all the money back

So if you spend 100k on the world cruise you only get 1/5 of debt back and if you spend 10000 on a 7 day cruise you get the same 1/5 back ridiculous. b2b discount irrelevant

If that is the policy it stinks imo smells of desperation for bookings

The comment about the calculation of money owed being “minus funds recovered in the insolvency proceeding” is curious will we recover anything and if so when we will know?

My ta has told me that his consortium — the largest booker of old crystal — is negotiating with nc about their huge losses. My ta has seen very few requests to book crystal. Maybe this gesture is a response to number of bookings. I don’t know My ta was not impressed with the offer. Prices on nc are 20% higher. 20% off is not exciting. No one knows if it will be worth 20% more. Few people can take enough cruises in that short a time even if they wanted to. Plus no one knows what the product will be I still think it’s a nice gesture. Not sure how many will take advantage of it. If u were planning to cruise the new crystal anyway it’s great.

I applaud the new company. They are finally addressing the bad will out there. No idea if bookings are slower than expected and they want to lure back former loyal customers. I will register of course but not sure I will book. My dance card is really full through 2025

There are no “Justs” on explora. All the cabins are wonderful

I’m very excited. We booked one of the residences (butler required) and it looks amazing. The dining options are endless.

I bit the bullet and booked an Explora cruise. Looks fabulous.

I keep read about explora. Ultra luxury. Suites and restaurants sound amazing. They may turn out to be the new gold standard. Of course we won’t know until they sail and we get reliable reports i don’t think they’ve won any awards yet though we love silversea in every respect. Works for us

My favorite story about the lunatic we had on a private tour involved a private tour to Luxor from Safaga. Can you think of a more magical or fascinating place? One guy kept asking if we would get back in time for Happy Hour - 2 for 1 drinks -- it was an Oceania cruise where alcohol was not included. Needless to say, we did not get back in time. You can't make this stuff up.

I did it for years without an issue. Some of my best cruising friends are folks we met on shore excursions we organized. I would never be on a bus with 20 strangers. Different strokes.

For us, the purpose of roll calls was to organize private excursions - to get a group of 6 or 8. Nowadays many of the cruise lines include excursions so folks don't opt for private (mistake IMO) and we are willing to hire a private guide for the just the 2 of us if we are not traveling with our usual group of friends. I'm not sure of the purpose of the roll call.
