  1. Yes. Closer to the muse class but doesn’t have everything. I’m happy either way.
  2. Yes. Closer to the muse class but doesn’t have everything. I’m happy either way.
  3. The muse class ships— muse moon dawn— provide a very different experience from the smaller ships. We are booked on the spirit next year because of an amazing itinerary. We are prepared for the differences. The muse class ships can be compared to crystal. Not the others
  4. The smoking would bother me too I honestly didn’t notice on either of my 2 cruises but perhaps there weren’t as many smokers on those cruises you are right about the dress code but we seem to find workarounds. Not a deal breaker for us. After all we’re doing round trip transatlantic on Qm2 in September lol
  5. There were cooking classes on both my cruises on Moon. It’s part of the s.a.l.t program. Classes were great
  6. Are they going to post and share? Those I refer to have posted
  7. There seem to be a far greater number of former crystal cruisers who loved their silversea experience than those who share your view. Maybe your cruise was a one off. Everyone I know who tried ss after crystal’s demise has booked multiple future cruises on ss. Your experience sounds nothing like mine.
  8. On my last regent cruise (everyone gets free laundry) when they did the fun end of cruise tributes to the crew, the guys and gals in the laundry got the loudest cheers. Lol
  9. Everyone has different priorities. at this point in my life I want it all business class huge cabin butler gorgeous ship i care less about ports than I used to. We’ve been everywhere on land and sea. I want to love the ship as much if not more than the itinerary Time is getting shorter
  10. Maybe you need to reread my post. I acknowledged that that is one category of cruiser. Can you not also acknowledge that there are others who don’t think bigger cabins are a waste of money?
  11. No. But if the line depends on only those looking for inexpensive cabins it cannot charge premium prices or provide a luxury experience. Delicate balance
  12. I don’t disagree. But there is a totally different category of cruisers for whom the ship is the destination. They have been almost everywhere, can afford an upgraded cabin and want modern ships, spacious cabins and many restaurant choices.
  13. We enjoyed the ss entertainment. It is not the same style as crystal. No production type shows. But on each of 2 cruises the six performers were extremely talented and versatile. Many standing ovations
  14. I really admire all of you doing the math to compare rates. I understand there are many cruisers for whom this calculation is critical. Perhaps factor number 1 the crystal diehards don’t care. The multiple could be tenfold and their bags are packed
  15. I have no idea what was deleted but no need for apology. I don’t take anything said on these boards personally.
  16. Where the food is provisioned is definitely a factor. On splendor eg the escargot in compass rose were amazing. Cruise started in Rome on voyager, which started in Cape Town, I was disappointed in the escargot. I spoke to the chef. He told me escargot from Cape Town not the best. Wait until second leg when provisioning done in Rio. He was right. From Rio onward escargot amazing again.
  17. I’m told a few people already have their reviews written lol
  18. Paul. Not everyone has your charm I was with a couple on voyager and I told them of your success on splendor. No dice
  19. This is an aspect of regent that I find insane. Fares are per person. Internet should be as well. They don’t give you one free shore excursion per port per cabin
  20. Two cruises on regent excursions awful i don’t care I have 6 more Regent cruises booked paying for private excursions
  21. Not sealed off I recall regent totally sealed off i know my husband did not bring a tie on ss and it was not an issue. If tie needed in Atlantide we ate in hot rocks or spana……. we like room service on ss because of dinearound menu and caviar. Somehow we managed to avoid anything more than jacket occasionally
  22. Surprised. I don’t recall that smoking policy. Yes ss a little more formal
  23. Every cruise is different. Our 2 regent cruises had superb staff
