Setti mare dining time is a problem. If u don’t want to dine when it opens then you really have to wait until much later to get a table. We had that experience on both splendor and voyager we don’t like to eat very late so we just opted for immediate seating at 630.

That is part of the equation. Ss has many more dining options so the paid specialties become less significant in the overall dining experience personally I think the 100 cruise requirement is ludicrous. A benefit that applies to a handful of people is no benefit at all

That would work only if others don’t need to walk through the area to get to other parts of the ship. If I recall you walk through the casino to access other areas. That design was likely to encourage passersby to lose some money

The only cruise line I’ve sailed where dress code.was strictly enforced is Regent. We had table near entrance and watched guests being turned away. It was done tactfully and no guest seemed offended Crystal did not enforce rules. Cut off jean shorts at dinner in main dining room was the most shocking personally I don’t care what anyone wears but I do believe in following rules. Any cruise line that publicizes rules and does not enforce them consistently should not expect those rules to be followed

I didn’t do any independent research. Just anecdotal from people I’ve met cruising. Apparently it’s not all rosy. we all know about no refunds lol

Ask your ta for rebate instead. That’s what we did. They can rebate any refundable obc. Policy was unique to Crystal but easy workaround

Personally I have not sailed Viking. But I have never met a single cruiser who didn’t tell me how much they love Viking. This includes folks I met on Crystal. Tempted There must be something to it

The dance hosts didn’t just dance with solo travelers. Many women travelling with husbands/partners who couldn’t or wouldn’t dance were their constant partners

Completely understand. Apparently the ss loyalists don’t mind it. Honestly it did not bother us at all. You have other good choices

?? We sailed ss alone twice. One couple we know went to Galapagos on ss and booked 2 more expeditions. I think they posted there were 8 of us on regent. We all loved the cruise. Everyone posted I believe reread post 80 accurate stickman laexny they posted

I don’t question others opinions. I question when someone posts something like…..and none of my friends liked it or everyone I know said food was awful … or everyone I know is booking crystal of everyone I know said regent service was not as good as crystal who believes this stuff? this is all baseless bootstrapping. An old trick. I read your personal review and I respect it. Personal opinions based on experience carry a lot of weight. This other stuff is nonsense and should be ignored

The threads are going where participants want them to go. You may not like it but apparently that is what participants want learning about other cruise lines on their home boards does not give crystal cruisers the perspective of someone who has cruised crystal and knows the crystal product. That has become obvious as there has been a huge demand for information about competing lines on the crystal boards

All the posters who respond to these posts that mention other cruise lines have it right Cruise critic belongs to its members the threads develop based on interests of the group and are not controlled by the poster who starts the thread.

Imo seabourn square is unmatched as a feature on any ship. Brilliant concept. Surprised no other line has duplicated it.

The very prominent and public location of the puzzle on splendor was a source of some great entertainment. There was a woman who worked on it every day — in her bathrobe. the puzzle on voyager was tucked away near the library.

The salt program also features an amazing bar with some wild and crazy drinks. We are not big drinkers but I know many who love it
