  1. We were able to charge it to our shipboard account.
  2. I was on one of the Regent ships in July (prefer not to say which one). I had cold symptoms and having brought my own COVID tests, I self tested and was positive. I called the medical center to ask about next steps. I felt that they were discouraging me from self reporting. They indicate that if I came to the medical center and tested positive, I would be quarantined. But, if I did not come down, there was nothing they would do (after I had already admitted to testing positive). I did go for the more extensive test anyway and was quarantined for five days. Yet my neighbor, who called his mother each day to give a full report of his excursions, complained about his “sinus condition” and tiredness, but went about his daily activities. Can’t say whether he masked or not - I was locked down.
  3. We docked in Tilbury on Regent a few weeks ago. The train station is about a mile from the dock. There isn’t much infrastructure at the train station, so you should prebook transportation from the train station if you have not already done so.
  4. On Voyager now. The hairdryer is a BabyLiss Pro. A little heavy, but no need to hold down any buttons to get continuous drying.
  5. They are luggage tags, not name tags. The link is to a legit Regent website. The email was forwarded to us by our TA.
  6. Thanks for the great tips. Do you have any recommendation for transportation from BRU?
  7. Yes, we are staying at the Hilton.
  8. Vistaman, we are staying 8n Antwerp for two nights before our July cruise on Voyager. I haven’t started my research yet, but if you could provide any must see sights and any dining suggestions, I would be grateful. Thanks.
  9. Every travel insurance policy that I have ever had has had an addendum containing cruise lines, travel packagers and airlines that it would not insure. They don’t typically call attention to it, but it is there.
  10. It would be interesting to know the geographic profile of frequent Regent cruisers. Are there more cruisers in the US West versus UK/Europe. It would seem like it would be better to make it more convenient for the majority.
  11. We are considering booking a cruise on Regatta. The only available suite is directly under the fitness studio. Can anyone that stayed in one of those suites (either on Regatta or her sister ships) comment on the level of noise coming from the fitness center into the suites below?
  12. I’m an experienced Regent cruiser but never hear of the secure check-in for carry ons. Where is it and how do we avail ourselves of its services?

  14. We were also on an LA/Mexico itinerary late October 2022. While we weren’t thrilled with the excursions, we chalked that up to post-COVID start up. Everything on the ship was fine. Great food, great service, no complaints.
  15. Andrea deMarco was already president during the AUK - SYD segment. She signed all of the “apology” letters.
  16. Pre-COVID, I reached Gold while traveling with my mom, who was only on her second Regent cruise. She was included with me on all Gold and above events.
  17. Your treatment, both the discourtesy from Gerson as well as being denied boarding of the catamaran was outrageous. Please make sure that either you or your husband make both Destination Services as well as the GM aware of this situation. I do wish that Regent would increase the number of excursions for cruisers with mobility challenges. I have cruised with my mother, who is on a walker, and we had to skip ship-provided excursions in several ports in the Mediterranean, as none were suitable. This was pre-COVID. I also traveled in January with my husband who was having walking issues, and it was difficult to find excursions in every port. We’re all aging. Given Regent’s demographic, some gentler tour offerings would be appreciated.
  18. I don’t know if we were “required” to take the tests. We would never have refused. We called them to self-report. We thought (and still think) it was the right thing to do. Received notification from our insurance company today that our claim will be paid in full.
  19. Did someone indicate Regent forced medical treatment? They did not force anything on us.
  20. Our experience was on Explorer in January 2023. PCR test confirmed our own self-test results. Nurse visited twice daily but no further tests until day 5. We tested negative on day 5 and were immediately released from quarantine. Cost including Paxlovid was $1,800+ per person.
  21. I had heard it was a refrigerant leak, not a fire.
  22. Last Sunday we were scheduled to fly business class Sydney to LA on United. An incident in the control tower diverted our incoming flight. We got the last two business class seats SYD - SFO but had to split up SFO to PHX. Seeing the long line of people trying to get rebooked made us grateful for what we got. I’m sure there are many that didn’t make it out that day.
