  1. how is this different than the free tour for Platinums and above?
  2. https://cruisefever.net/most-crowded-cruise-ships-by-passenger-space-ratio/ The formula for the passenger space ratio is simply the gross tonnage (GT) of a cruise ship divided by the passenger capacity of that vessel (Gross Tonnage ÷ passenger capacity). In our list we used the standard double-capacity for each ship. A common misconception is that the gross tonnage of a cruise ship is a measurement of weight. However, it has nothing to do with weight at all. In fact, gross tonnage is a unitless measurement of the volume or space of a cruise ship and includes all of the enclosed spaces of the vessel. This is an important factor, as some areas of a ship’s open-air decks will not be included in the figure. Prima has the most space per pax in the NCL fleet, followed by the Breakaway Plus class (except the Escape). Joy is listed as #2 only because it's max cap is 200 less than Bliss/Encore. But what does that # mean? square feet per person?
  3. non-political walking tours of belfast are free. google it
  4. added 30 amex offers, logged out, logged back in. new offers did not have ncl 😞
  5. Going on the Star next month. Star is the sister ship to Dawn. During one of Dawn's refurbs, los lobos was added. No Los Lobos on Star: https://www.ncl.com/cruise-ship/star/whats-on-board/specialty-dining So what's in that place on Star where los Lobos is located on Dawn?
  6. At the train station, the price at the ticket counter to goto Gatwick is just 27 pounds, not 42.
  7. Kalik no longer on the list either. :( last day of my cruise. enjoying as much as possible
  8. When I'm on my next cruise at end of this month, I'm definitely going to ask the internet mgr!
  9. Just checked my free amex everyday card. No ncl offer. :( did people keep 'adding' offers to free up space so the ncl/celebrity offers pops up?
  10. I'm in 14day cruise and am on the next to last day. Bumped into someone today who is on the cruise Facebook group and she mentioned she got the $100 unlimited special on day 4. (She was at the Internet mgr because she accidently left her internet connection on.) So $10/day! 😮 This is the 1st time I've heard of this special and it was not mentioned in the Daily's. So if you're on a long cruise, ask your internet mgr about that. edit: When i activated my promo 300 internet minutes on day2, there was no screen offering an upgrade to unlimited with trade in of the promo minutes. it was immediately redeemed. All my other cruises, whether 10 day or 14day, there was always a 2nd screen offering the option to upgrade to unlimited with trade in. edit2: Since the $100 internet is a outright purchase and not an upgrade, maybe the 25% Platinum/Diamond internet discount applies? Knowing ncl, probably not since it's a special.
  11. Dinner at Cagney's. Friend ordered 7 layer cake, which includes a scoop of ice cream. On the bill, there is a $9 charge for that ice cream. (She didn't order any additional scoops and there was only 1 scoop on her plate.) Final bill is still $0.00. I didn't catch this till I got to my cabin. Does the restaurant dept get paid from CruiseNext dept for the Platinum dinners?
  12. Note: Reykjavik was a stop in the middle of my cruise and not the last stop. No idea if there's a free shuttle into town if Reykjavik is the debarkation port. (I doubt it. it'll probably be chaos and lack of space with all that luggage.)
  13. if i get to the station by 8am, can i pay the price difference between the 9am train and the 8am train?
  14. we docked at skarf pier or something like that. no idea who provided the shuttle. a city bus was used but there was a sign on the front window that it's a shuttle between pier and town. yes, took it back to the ship. you board at same place you got off (in front of opera house)
  15. Are they cash flow positive without the future prepayments from passengers?
  16. I current have an IF cabin. IF's are deck 4+5. Mine is currently deck 4 fwd, which is nice since i like playing in the casino (deck 6 fwd). Just saw a deck 5 mid open up, between mid + aft elevators but closer to mid. it's a more convenient location in general but it's right under AQUA dining room (deck 6 mid). I'm thinking of the noise from employees moving chairs/tables at night for cleaning. What do you think? Move from my 4th floor cabin to the one on deck 5?
  17. cant wait for more info about this ship and the changes made from Prima based on customer feedback. Hopefully ncl is still getting near 0% interest loans on the remaining Prima ships. (when they announced 6 prima ships, interest rates were are near 0%)
  18. I'm on Dawn 14 day cruise. Some days when logged on ship wifi (not using internet minutes) on my Win10 laptop, I can reply to threads. And other days I can't. Anyone have the same experience? And a fix?
  19. Ncl: if the hop on/off excursion is sold out: Green hop on/off bus comes to the info kiosk a block away and drives you into Dublin center. For red, you have to take train ($5 roundtrip) into Dublin then take the hop on/off bus. So basically same price and Green is much more convenient.
  20. Is Veuve Rose sold at Le Bistro worse than plain veuve?
  21. There's a $5 shuttle each way from pier to town. I bought round trip but took Uber back because my walking tour ended 1 1/2 miles from shuttle pick up. $17 uber from where I was to cruise pier
  22. so the fog horn is directed towards the back of the ship? to warn those speed boaters doing 30knots not to run into the ship?
  23. interesting... when i beep my horn in my car, i hear it loud (as well as my intended audience). so somehow the ship limits the fog horn sound from coming back to the ship?
